If you regularly read The Points Guy, you are no stranger to our frequent deal alerts.
Thrifty Traveler is one of the tools we use to find flight deals — and right now, in honor of National Cheap Flight Day, the company is throwing one of the biggest sales of the year on its Thrifty Traveler Premium flight deal alert service.
Right now, you can get 40% off a premium membership using our special TPG code and link.
The best part of membership is receiving emails about cheap cash deals — and some incredible points and miles bargains — on airline tickets and/or hotel stays. This sale brings the $99.99 price down to $59.99 for the first year for just flight deals, or from $149.99 down to $89.99 for flight and hotel deals.
To take advantage of this sale, just enter "THEPOINTSGUY" in the promotional box — or use our link to skip entering promo codes altogether.
"Thrifty Traveler Premium finds deals from more than 200 airports in the U.S. and Canada — more than any other service," the company said in a statement to TPG. "Members can tailor their alerts to get deals only from their home airport, all 200-plus cities, or anything in between."
I've personally used Thrifty Traveler Premium for years. In fact, it's how I scored one of the best points redemptions of my life: lie-flat Delta One from Los Angeles to Brisbane, Australia, for just 73,100 SkyMiles plus $120 in taxes and fees.
The only reason I knew about that rare Delta SkyMiles availability was because of a flight deal subscription email I got early one Saturday.
According to Thrifty Traveler, here are just a few of the deals sent to subscribers:
- Domestic round-trip flights regularly under $200 (or even under $100) for cross-country travel
- Nearly 30 award deals to help members redeem their points and miles, like a Delta SkyMiles flash sale to Costa Rica from 16,000 miles round-trip and excellent Qatar Airways Qsuite availability to the Middle East or the Maldives in 2025
- An unprecedented amount of business-class award space to get to Europe in lie-flat seats, such as wide-open Air France and KLM award seats bookable at just 60,000 Flying Blue miles, seats in United Airlines' Polaris cabin for 53,000 United MileagePlus miles and seats in American Airlines' business class for 62,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles
- Rare and fun award deals, including some of the cheapest SkyMiles rates we've seen in years to fly in Delta One to Seoul, South Korea; Taipei, Taiwan; and Barcelona
- Incredible rates to fly Emirates first class on the airline's new route from Miami to Bogota, Colombia
Here's another example of a deal alert from Thrifty Traveler that alerted members to a wide-open Air France-KLM Flying Blue deal using just 60,000 miles each way:
Note that this 40% off deal is a limited-time offer, ending Aug. 22. After that, using our "THEPOINTSGUY" code will continue to net you $20 off your purchase — but you should take the steeper discount while it's on offer.
Bottom line
This is a great time to sign up for a very useful deal-finding website: Thrifty Traveler Premium for $59.99 instead of $99.99 and Thrifty Traveler Premium Plus for $89.99 instead of $149.99. Not too shabby.
To sign up, visit this link or use our promo code "THEPOINTSGUY" at checkout. Note that if you use our link, the discount will automatically be applied at checkout; there is no need to enter a promo code.
If you've been considering a subscription to a deal alert service, now might be a good time to act.
