Sample flights

Although the airline usually advertises specific routes included in its sales, that is not the case for this sale. Therefore, you'll need to use the Best Fare Finder to search for this deal.

JETBLUE.COM

For a test search conducted for this story, I searched availability from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to New York City during the first week of the sale.

Be sure to enter the promo code "SPRINGTRAVEL" when searching your desired route. You'll know if the discount has been applied if you see a crossed-out fare as shown below, with the discounted fare being $192, down from $217.

When booking a round-trip flight, the $25 discount will apply to both segments, for $50 off the round-trip fare.

Sale prices include all government taxes and fees and are for the lowest available fare — either Blue Basic or Blue.

Blue Basic allows travelers to bring one personal item that can fit under the seat in front of them. Any full-size carry-on bag brought to the gate will incur a fee and must be checked. The fee is $65 for your first or second checked bag and $180 for your third bag. Change and cancel fees apply to Blue Basic fares, so consider upgrading for further flexibility.

Maximize your purchase

If you book this deal, be. sure to use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as the JetBlue Plus Card for 6 points per dollar on eligible JetBlue purchases, the JetBlue Card for 3 points per dollar on eligible JetBlue purchases or the JetBlue Business Card for 6 points per dollar on eligible JetBlue purchases.

Or try The Platinum Card® from American Express (5 points per dollar on airfare booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel, on up to $500,000 on these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar); Chase Sapphire Reserve® (3 points per dollar on airfare), the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (2 points per dollar on travel) or Citi Strata Premier Card (see rates and fees; 3 points per dollar spent on air travel).

The information for the JetBlue Plus Card, JetBlue Card and Jet Blue Business Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Bottom line

JetBlue's Big Spring Sale is available to book for travel starting later this month through June. Book by Wednesday to take advantage of these low fares.
