Icelandair deal: Round-trip flights to Europe this winter for less than $400
For travel this fall through winter, Icelandair is offering sale flights from various major U.S. cities to popular European tourist destinations like Rome, Paris, Copenhagen, Prague, Stockholm and Zurich.
Round-trip flights start at $374 for travel from October 2023 through February 2024.

For a December flight to Copenhagen, Icelandair's JFK flight is the cheapest option on Google Flights.
These dates are in winter when the weather is colder and the nights are longer. However, you'll be able to get cheaper airfare and hotels since it's the offseason.
Despite the low airfare, there are ancillary fees you'll need to pay if you want to check in a bag or select a seat. These flights fall under Icelandair's Economy Light option, which is the carrier's most restrictive cabin class.
Checked baggage costs a total of $152 for a round-trip journey since Icelandair charges $76 one-way for a bag.

Bottom line
While the travel dates for these Icelandair deals are mostly in fall and winter — the offseason for tourism in many of these European cities — the airfare is hard to beat. Even with the tacked-on fees, the total you'll end up paying for these flights is still less than what you'd spend to fly to one of these cities on a larger airline in spring or summer.
