Based on a test search, some deals have already increased in price since they were initially advertised. So, if you want to book this deal, time is of the essence. For example, the American flight from ORD to JFK is now available for $183 round trip, up slightly from the advertised price of $167. This deal will be for basic economy flights on all carriers, which do not permit flight changes or cancellations across the board; it also does not include seat selection or priority boarding.

Travelers flying American, Delta and Alaska basic economy can bring one personal item and one carry-on item, while United basic economy does not permit a full-size carry-on. JetBlue deals will be for the lowest fare available, which is likely to be Blue Basic; this only includes one personal item that can fit under the seat in front of you. Any full-size carry-on bag brought to the gate will incur a $65 fee to be checked.

A checked bag costs between $30 and $35 each way on all airlines.

To book the sale fare, you might have to book across multiple airlines. For example, this flight from DCA to JFK is available via American for the outgoing flight and via JetBlue on the return. It costs $208 — above the quoted price of $158.
