Now that Hawai'i has officially lifted its travel restrictions for people arriving from the United States, many travelers are understandably thinking about a trip to paradise. Alaska Air wants to help push you from "think" to "book" with a new sale on flights to the islands this spring from the west coast that is too good to pass up.

You can fly nonstop from a number of cities that Alaska serves with these discounted fares, including LA, Portland, San Jose and Seattle. The sale's best prices apply to Alaska's Saver tier, which is the airline's most restricted fare. Saver tickets come with no seat selection, one carry-on bag and one personal item. The Main Saver tickets are also on sale, which come with overhead bin space, earlier boarding and the ability to change your ticket without penalty.

Sample flights

Flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to the Hawaiian islands are some of the best prices we discovered in this sale. You can head to Maui (OGG) nonstop for only $177 on a Saver ticket, more than 50% off the normal fare price.

Los Angeles to Honolulu (HNL) is also significantly discounted in this sale. You can fly there for only $253 round-trip. Note that the departure flight out of LAX in this itinerary has one stop, but the return flight is nonstop.

Book yourself a trip from San Jose (SJC) to Maui (OGG) for just $177 round-trip in late April. Notice that upgrading to Main Saver would cost you $80, but checking a bag with a Saver ticket is $60, so it may not be worth upgrading unless you really hate to board last.

We found great prices on tickets from Seattle (SEA) to Kona (KOA) across the dates of this sale. This Saver itinerary for a mid-May jaunt to the Big Island costs you just $297, a great price for this route.

Seattle to Kauai (LIH) is even cheaper, just $257 for a nonstop ticket. We found this excellent deal available throughout April and May.
