Per the terms and conditions, this offer is for new members of Club Carlson without a previous account, and is limited to 4,500 Gold Points per person. Members must enroll by May 31, 2012. The bonus points will be deposited in the new account within 6-8 weeks of enrollment.
Club Carlson is the rewards program of Carlson Rezidor Hotels with brands like Radisson, Radisson Blu, Country Inns and Suites by Carlson, Park Inn by Radisson and more—over 1,000 properties in total. Club Carlson members get free internet at Radisson hotels worldwide and Carlson hotels in North America, and there are no blackout dates for award nights on standard rooms.
Free nights start at 9,000 points for Club Carlson's Category 1 properties, which are mostly Park Inns and Country Inns and Suites with a couple Radissons thrown in. Category 2 hotels require 15,000 points, Category 3 require 28,000 points, Category 4 hotels require 38,000 points, Category 5 hotels require 44,0000 points and Category 6 hotels (where you'll find some of those fancy European Radisson Blus) require 50,000 points for a free night redemption. They also have a Points & Cash option starting at 5,000 points plus a varying amount of cash that depends on the booking.
To give you another context, Club Carlson members earn 20 Gold Points per US dollar spent on eligible hotel nights as well as meals and beverages charged to the room. So 4,500 points would be the equivalent of spending $225 at a hotel. To purchase 4,500 Gold Points outright from Club Carlson would just cost $31.50, though, since they cost 0.7 cents apiece. That doesn't sound so impressive, but hey they're free and it takes 30 seconds to sign up. And if you were thinking of joining Club Carlson anyway, this is a good way to score a few extra points in the meantime.
