If you daydream about lounging on the beach, admiring the dazzling teal waters and sipping a cocktail, now is the time to make that wishful thinking a reality. Round-trip flights to St. Croix are starting at $275.

The discounted fares to St. Croix apply to flights taking place in 2023, giving you tons of time to plan your trip. American Airlines and Delta Air Lines are offering these cheap fares to Christiansted — the island’s largest town — from a range of cities across the U.S.

Such a discount is likely to only last a couple of days, so if you’re interested in traveling to St. Croix, book these tickets as soon as you possibly can.

How to book: Search through Google Flights to determine your availability, then book your tickets directly with the airline of your choice.
Travel dates: Generally from January through March and August through September of 2023.

Scott’s Cheap Flights scouted this deal. With a 14-day trial and a $49-a-year price tag, the site’s Premium membership offers discounts of up to 90%. There’s also the Elite tier membership, which finds premium economy, business class and first-class deals.

Sample flights

Many of the routes in this offer depart from smaller cities such as Albany, New York, or Roanoke, Virginia. And similar to a recent deal on Costa Rica, the travel dates for trips to St. Croix only apply to flights taking off in 2023, so you’ll have an ample amount of time to plan your island getaway.

Here are some standout flights to St. Croix:

  • American: New York's Westchester County Airport (HPN), starting at $275 (includes a layover in Miami).
  • American: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), starting at $275 (includes a layover in Miami).
  • American: San Antonio International Airport (SAT), starting at $291 (includes a layover in Dallas).
  • Delta: Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE), starting at $321 (includes a layover in Atlanta).
  • American: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), starting at $332 (includes a layover in Miami).
  • Delta: Virginia's Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO), starting at $373 (includes a layover in Atlanta).

We recommend using Google Flights to figure out your best travel dates, and then booking your flights directly on the airline’s website. Airlines are more reliable if there’s a delay, cancellation or booking change to the flight.

When setting out for St. Croix from Los Angeles, Google Flights lists two American flights as the cheapest options. The first flight, which costs $333, is approximately 11 hours in travel time and departs from Los Angeles at 6:27 a.m. The other flight is priced at $373 and has a travel time of around nine hours. The slightly more expensive flight leaves LAX a little later, at 8:25 a.m. Both flights have layovers in Miami.

Keep in mind that these fares only extend to basic economy. American’s basic economy fare includes additional fees for seat selection and checked bags. Passengers also cannot make changes to their flight and they will be in the last boarding group.

If you choose to select seats, the prices range from $8 to $72, with the cheapest seats at the back of the plane and the more expensive ones toward the front. The more expensive seats also have more legroom. If you don’t choose seats when finalizing your flight tickets, American will auto-assign you seats instead.

Bottom line

This discounted bundle of flights to St. Croix is definitely worth considering, especially since they offer plenty of time to plan. While there aren’t many routes and many are concentrated in the South, this deal is quite convenient if you live near one of the listed cities. You could be enjoying the island's pristine beaches and colorful boardwalks in the new year.
