In September 2022, the list of Marriott Bonvoy credit cards grew with two new additions: the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Card from Chase. In many ways, these two cards are very similar.

However, they do have some differences. Let's look at the similarities and differences between the Bonvoy Bevy and Bountiful cards to understand which one is better suited for your wallet.

The information for the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Note that both cards are subject to Marriott Bonvoy eligibility restrictions. Additionally, the Bevy is subject to Amex's once-per-lifetime rule, and the Bountiful is subject to Chase's 5/24 rule. Be sure to check your eligibility on either card before applying.

Winner: Bevy. Even though the card requires more spending than the Bountiful to earn its welcome bonus, you have double the time to meet that spending requirement.

Marriott Bonvoy Bevy vs. Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful benefits

The Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful have almost identical benefits. With both cards, you'll get automatic Gold Elite status and 1,000 bonus points for each eligible Bonvoy stay, as well as travel and purchase protections.

Notably missing from both cards is an automatic annual free night certificate. With both the Bevy and the Bountiful, you'll need to spend $15,000 on your card in a calendar year to get a free night.

Since many hotel cards offer an annual free night without a spending requirement, you'll want to calculate whether you can get enough value from either card to justify their $250 annual fee. If not, you may decide you want to get a card that comes with an annual award night, like the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card.

You'll essentially get the same exact perks out of either card, so your choice will come down to other factors.

Enrollment is required for select Bonvoy Bevy benefits; terms apply.

Winner: Tie. Both cards are virtually identical as far as their benefits are concerned.

Winner: Bountiful. Although their earn rates are very similar, the Bevy's supermarket category is limited to the U.S.

Redeeming points with the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy vs. Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful

Both the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful earn Marriott Bonvoy points, so they offer the same redemption options.

You'll almost always get the best value from your points by redeeming them for a stay at a Marriott Bonvoy property. TPG credit cards writer Danyal Ahmed used his Marriott Bonvoy points to book a five-day stay in Dubai over New Year's Eve weekend, taking advantage of the fifth-free-night benefit.

Additionally, you can use your points for gift cards and merchandise through Marriott's shopping portal, but again, we recommend avoiding this route to get maximum value from your points.

Winner: Tie. Both cards earn Marriott Bonvoy points and offer the same redemption options.

Transferring points with the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy vs. Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful

In addition to booking stays at Bonvoy properties, you can transfer the points you earn on the Bonvoy Bevy and the Bonvoy Bountiful to one of nearly 40 partner airline programs, including United MileagePlus and Delta SkyMiles.

This redemption generally won't yield a good value for your points, so we recommend only doing this if you need to top off your airline account balance.

Winner: Tie. Both cards have the same transfer partners.

Should I get the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy or Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful?

Both of these cards are essentially the same. The main distinctions between them are the slight differences in their welcome offers and earning rates. I recommend either of these cards if you're in the market for a Marriott card and can justify paying either card's steep annual fee.

Bottom line

The Amex Marriott Bonvoy Bevy card and Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful card are very similar. Which one is better for you depends on which benefits better fit your lifestyle and travel habits, as well as whether you're eligible for one card but not the other.

If you're looking for a card with different Bonvoy benefits or a lower annual fee, you'll likely find that a different Marriott Bonvoy card is a better fit.
