If you're always streaming Disney+ or Hulu, the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express just became an even better option for you.

American Express announced Friday that Blue Cash Preferred's statement credit toward Disney Streaming purchases is increasing to $120 annually (up to $10 each month; enrollment is required; terms apply).

This is up $36 from the card's previous $84 annual credit on Disney Streaming purchases.

The Amex Blue Cash Preferred maintains its $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then a $95 annual fee after that (see rates and fees).

With the increased Disney credit, the Blue Cash Preferred's annual fee is effectively outweighed by $25.

Read on to learn more about how you can use this credit on popular streaming services.

What counts toward the Disney Streaming Credit on the Amex Blue Cash Preferred?

There are multiple options to bundle together:

  • Disney+ and Hulu basic: $10.99 per month
  • Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max (with ads): $16.99 per month
  • Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ basic: $16.99 per month
  • Disney+ and Hulu premium: $19.99 per month
  • Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ premium: $26.99 per month
  • Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max (no ads): $29.99 per month

The least expensive plan charges $10.99 a month, which would be essentially wiped away by the heightened credit on the Amex Blue Cash Preferred.

What about the Disney Streaming Credit on the Amex Blue Cash Everyday?

While the Disney Streaming Credit on the Amex Blue Cash Preferred is higher, the no-annual-fee Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express (see rates and fees) will maintain an $84 annual statement credit.

However, the credit will no longer have a minimum spend requirement to meet each month. This credit will now be applied regardless of monthly spending.

However, since the Blue Cash Everyday is maintaining its $0 annual fee, you'll still receive solid value from the up to $84 annually ($7 monthly) as a statement credit for Disney Streaming purchases. Valid for U.S. websites only.

Bottom line

The Amex Blue Cash Preferred Card is an excellent card for streaming services, and it's becoming even better with an increase to $120 annually for the Disney Streaming Credit, earned as up to $10 monthly statement credits.

Plus, remember that you'll earn 6% cash back on select U.S. streaming subscriptions on what you spend after the statement credit is applied. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit and at Amazon.com checkout.
