There’s nowhere in the world quite like French Polynesia and its beautiful islands, crystalline water, iconic overwater bungalows and world-class resorts. And there’s nothing quite like getting there on Air Tahiti Nui, French Polynesia’s boutique, flag-carrying airline, where the journey is just as memorable as the destination itself.
Now, that journey is getting even better with the introduction of Air Tahiti Nui’s new Mānava Premium class, an elevated intermediate class that offers more comfort, alongside the airline’s signature Polynesian hospitality.
Here’s a look at the all-new Mānava Premium class, a great fit for travelers looking for comfort and refinement on the way to Tahiti or beyond. Plus, an exclusive promo code* to help you save on this new experience.
What is Mānava Premium?
Previously called Moana Premium Economy, the Mānava Premium class sits between Poerava Business (and its lie-flat seats) and the colorful Moana Economy cabin on board Air Tahiti Nui’s fleet of Boeing 787-9s, affectionately called Tahitian Dreamliners.
The airline is serious about making the journey as memorable as the destination, a big task when you think of the beauty of islands like Mo'orea and Bora Bora. To do that, travelers can expect touches of island beauty throughout, including tiare flower motifs, blues the color of French Polynesia’s legendary lagoons, the sounds of local music and even tropical floral scents, all from the moment you board.
But that’s not all.
The upgraded experience: What travelers can expect
A warm Polynesian welcome
Besides being greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome, Mānava Premium passengers receive a complimentary tropical-inspired drink to set the tone of their journey. Whether you’re off on a family vacation or a romantic honeymoon, those fresh flavors give you a taste of paradise before you even take off.
Improved comfort and eco-conscious amenities
The Mānava Premium class starts with more space than the Moana Economy class, including wider seats with larger, softer cushions and extra legroom via adjustable legrests and footrests, plus 38 inches between seats and 8 inches of recline in a 2-3-2 seat configuration. That’s in addition to a 13-inch touchscreen display with touch controls, a USB port to charge devices and for-purchase inflight Wi-Fi.
Provided amenities in Mānava Premium are even better, too. In addition to offering large fleece blankets to cozy up in, Air Tahiti Nui is providing improved reusable headphones at every seat for enjoying the airline’s broad collection of inflight movies and music. Plus, Mānava Premium passengers will receive an enhanced comfort kit focused on sustainability that includes a sleep mask, socks, a bamboo toothbrush and noise-canceling earplugs.
Dining and beverages
Besides refreshing welcome drinks, travelers seated in Air Tahiti Nui’s Mānava Premium class should expect refined gourmet meals that encompass Polynesian, French and Asian flavors, including specialized meals for dietary restrictions that can be ordered up to 48 hours before takeoff. Meals are served on eco-friendly, recyclable tableware alongside real cutlery for a refined experience.
Beverages include elevated options like cremant, among other wines and alcoholic beverages, poured in elegant glassware.
Even more travel perks
The luxuries of Mānava Premium start way before you board the plane. Travelers in this premium class can expect a streamlined experience with fast-lane security access at Faaa International Airport (PPT) in Papeete, French Polynesia; Auckland Airport (AKL) in New Zealand; Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG); and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). It also offers two checked bags weighing up to 50.7 pounds each, access to a dedicated check-in area and priority boarding.
Where you can fly in Mānava Premium
Air Tahiti Nui prides itself on connecting some of the largest cities of the Northern Hemisphere, like Paris, Los Angeles, Seattle and Tokyo, to popular places in Oceania, including French Polynesia, Australia and New Zealand.
And with an extensive codeshare network through partners like American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, travelers around the U.S. (and beyond) have easy access to Air Tahiti Nui flights.
Bottom line
From the moment passengers step on board a Tahitian Dreamliner — and even before — authentic Polynesian hospitality is woven into every detail of this boutique airline experience. From fast-tracked security on the ground to large seats with plenty of space to spread out, a tantalizing welcome drink to put you in the tropical spirit and delicious meals in the sky, this premium experience really does make the journey just as much a part of your trip as the beautiful destination waiting for you back on the ground.
Best of all, the elevated experience comes with all the perks without a hefty price tag.
