Can't decide if your next vacation should be in a booming metropolis, buzzing art and food scene or a nature getaway? Visit Portland and you'll get a little bit of all those things. This city has a little something for everyone; it's where cosmopolitan meets the outdoors in a perfect blend. Portland has seen a boom in the last five years, with newcomers leading to an influx in population. And while the growth has plateaued in the last two years, it's still #25 of the country's 50 largest metro areas, according to the most recent census. If you've got the itch to check it all out, stay in one of the Airbnb rentals below to really get a sense of this exciting city.

Value Deals (under $150 a night)

1. A Cozy Lodge in StokeWood

If you want to be near the city center but still have a rustic country escape, this lodge is for you. Located on a beautiful piece of (fenced-in) property, complete with a 100-year-old orchard, up to two guests are free to pick the fruits and nuts from the surrounding trees. Located just a four-minute drive or (slightly longer) bike ride to the downtown area, this lodge makes a great base if you're planning any day trips. Rates from $149 per night with a two-night minimum stay required.

2. A Modern Home in Restaurant Row

Calling all foodies: This newly constructed modern home is located in Portland's bustling SE Division Street neighborhood and is surrounded by a ton of local favorites — like Little T Baker and Roman Candle; eclectic boutiques and dive bars are also within walking distance. Plus, the kitchen in this home has all the essentials if you and up to four guests want to stay in and dine on your own private back patio. Rates from $109 per night with a two-night minimum stay required.

3. An Updated Private Retreat

This beautifully landscaped retreat is great for a solo business traveler, a couple getting away for a few days or a group of up to four friends who just want to check out a new neighborhood. Located in North Piedmont, it's a good place to escape the hustle and bustle — but is still within reach of all the action. With a dedicated workspace, this two-story pad is also ideal if you need to work from home on your vacation. Rates from $109 per night with a two-night minimum stay required.

Mid-Tier ($150-$250 a night)

4. A Vibrant Bungalow in Arts District

If you want to immerse yourself in Portland's vibrant art scene or you're tired after exploring the city all day, this humble abode comes with amenities like a huge TV screen and a BBQ pit on the private back patio to help you and up to four guests unwind. Rates from $225 per night with a three-night minimum stay required.

5. Where Modern Meets Historic

This two-bedroom house, which sleeps up to four people, is located on historic Alameda Ridge, offering lovely views of the neighborhood and the ridge itself. Enjoy the lush backyard from the patio — or stay indoors and enjoy the scenery from one of the large windows that keep the house brightly lit all day. Rates from $225 per night with a two-night minimum stay required.

High Roller ($250+ a night)

6. A Sunny Craftsman for Large Groups

If you're coming to town with a large group of friends or family — up to eight — this home is a great option. This vacation rental offers a tasteful mix of modern and vintage style and is clutter-free, so there's plenty of space for everyone to stretch out and enjoy themselves. Look for a private back patio with a grill and a front porch with a swing; you and your guests never have to leave — unless, of course, you want to visit any of the many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Rates from $340 per night with a three-night minimum stay required.

7. A Gorgeous Riverfront Chateau

If you're traveling to Portland to get back to nature, check out this Willamette Riverfront property offering gorgeous views of the river, visible from the inside and from the home's huge back patio. There's also a deck on the water for you and your group of friends — it sleeps up to six — to take a dip anytime. Rates from $319 per night with a three-night minimum stay required.

8. A Stunning Estate on Lake Oswego

Technically, this one is a 20-minute drive from downtown Portland, about 10 miles away, set on Lake Oswego. If you're looking for stunning views of the city and the lake, this home really delivers; it's also been featured in Architectural Digest and was the setting for Harrison Ford's recent movie, Extraordinary Measures. There are four bedrooms and plenty of living space for up to six guests — perfect for a large group who wants to live like kings and queens on the water. Rates from $1,099 per night.

There are plenty of ways to maximize your stay with points and miles. If you've never used Airbnb before, sign up through TPG to get $40 off your first booking — and the gravy train doesn't stop there. Book through the Delta portal and earn 1 SkyMile for every dollar spent on your stay, and make sure to charge the purchase to a travel rewards card to rack up extra points. Using a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred will get you 2x points on all travel purchases while the Chase Sapphire Reserve will get you 3x points on an Airbnb stay.
