Whether you're a frequent flyer or one who seldom flies but still likes to travel in style, being an authorized user on the Platinum Card from American Express offers an incredible array of benefits — and it's a fantastic deal. For a total of $175, the primary cardholder can add up to three additional cardholders, which could easily outweigh the initial cost since each additional cardholder will get access to many of the perks that come with being a primary cardholder.

The only benefit that the primary cardholder has access to but authorized users do not is the $200 fee credit, which, although disappointing, shouldn't be a deal-breaker.

Not only will authorized users get to take advantage of perks that'll make traveling more enjoyable, but they'll also earn the much-improved 5x Membership Rewards points on airfare when booking directly with the airline. For primary cardholders of the Amex Platinum Card, adding up to three authorized users is a no-brainer — from lounge access to hotel elite status for less than $60 per person, there's no way to go wrong.
