New Snack Choices for Delta Main Cabin Passengers
Delta Air Lines announced today that it's set to make some tasty changes for passengers sitting in economy. As of December 14, the carrier will upgrade its Main Cabin offerings from the basic, Delta-branded peanuts and pretzels to an assortment of other options. The new choices include Snyder's of Hanover pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted Peanuts and NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bars. Perhaps the best news of all for frequent Delta flyers is that the carrier will be keeping its beloved Biscoff cookies as an option.

The complimentary new snacks will be available for all Main Cabin passengers as of December 14 on flights of more than 250 miles. Flights that range between 251-599 miles will have a choice of Biscoff cookies or Snyder's pretzels, and flights that are more than 600 miles will have all four options. Finally, Main Cabin customers on international flights will have the choice of either Snyder's pretzels or Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts.
You might me able to pick up some of these free snacks at the airport, too:
To celebrate the new snacks, Delta has set up branded vending machines in Los Angeles, Seattle and New York to offer complimentary samples to customers.
This is a great move from Delta to expand its snack options for customers at the rear of the plane. The new choices put the carrier on par with the offerings from some of its competitors. As of earlier this year, American offers its economy passengers the choice of Biscoff cookies or mini pretzels on flights that are more than 250 miles. Since February of this year, United offers free stroopwafels on flights departing before 9:45am, and for flights departing after 9:45am, it offers packaged snacks like an Asian-style mix of crackers, sesame sticks and wasabi peas or a pack of pretzel sticks. JetBlue offers perhaps the greatest number of choices. On all flights, JetBlue passengers are entitled to a choice of complimentary snacks — Cheez-Its, Craisins, PopCorners popcorn chips, Skeeter Nut-Free chocolate chip cookies or TERRA Sweets & Blues potato chips.
