The Points Guy sweepstakes and contests: Additional rules

These Additional Rules, together with the Official General Rules (“General Rules”), govern the Promotion defined below to be conducted by The Points Guy (“TPG”). These Additional Rules will prevail in the event of an inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the General Rules and the terms and conditions of these Additional Rules. By participating, you explicitly agree to these Additional Rules and to the General Rules governing TPG promotions.

PROMOTION: HOW TO WIN AT TRAVEL WITH BRIAN KELLY GIVEAWAY (“Giveaway”)

SPONSOR: TPG, 1423 Red Ventures Drive, Fort Mill, South Carolina 29707 is the sponsor of this Giveaway. Any questions relating to this Giveaway should be directed to TPG.

American Express and Instagram are not associated with or sponsors of this Giveaway.

ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE OR INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. The Giveaway is open to individuals who are residents of the fifty (50) United States or D.C. age 21 or older in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry.

Employees, officers and directors of TPG, its parent, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotional agencies, web masters and web suppliers and persons engaged in the development of the Giveaway materials (collectively, the “Promotional Entities”), and members of the immediate family (parents, siblings, children and spouse, wherever they reside) or household (whether or not related) of such employees, officers and directors are not eligible to participate in the Giveaway. Participants confirm that they meet all eligibility requirements.

PROMOTION PERIOD: The Giveaway begins at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, and ends at 5:00:00 p.m. ET on Friday, February 7, 2025 (the “Promotion Period”). The server hosting thepointsguy.com website is the official time clock for the Giveaway. Late submissions will not be accepted.

HOW TO ENTER: During the Promotion Period, enter by visiting Instagram and following The Points Guy. Then, answer the question, “who is your favorite travel buddy” by tagging a friend to submit your entry into the Giveaway during the Promotion Period. By submitting an entry, you are confirming that you have read and agree to these Additional Rules and the General Rules. If you enter using a mobile device, standard data charges may apply from your carrier.

Limit one entry per person by any method during the entire Promotion Period. Additional entries from the same person/Instagram account will be disqualified in Sponsor’s sole discretion. The creation of additional Instagram accounts to create additional entries beyond this limit is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification of all entries from that person, in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNER: Sponsor will select one (1) winner in a random drawing held on or before Monday, February 10, 2025 from among all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

The winner will be notified by Sponsor via direct message on or before Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Instagram account that the winner utilized to enter the Giveaway. The winner must sign and return a Declaration of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release within seven days following receipt in order to claim the Prize. If the potential winner does not return the signed documentation (including all necessary releases and forms as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) on a timely basis, or if any notification is returned as non-deliverable, or if the potential winner is found to be ineligible or not in full compliance with the Official General Rules and these Additional Rules, then that winner will be disqualified, the winner slot will be forfeited, and Sponsor will randomly draw another winner in order to fill the winner slot, time permitting.

PRIZE: Up to 150,000 American Express points toward a trip that is booked by Sponsor following a personalized, virtual 60-minute trip planning session with a TPG expert (prize total estimated value is $1,500).

TRAVEL TERMS: No cash in lieu of points allowed. Travel must not exceed one booking. Any Prize points remaining after one booking will be forfeited by the winner. Travel must occur on or before December 31, 2025. Winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes applicable to the Prize. Any trip booked that exceeds the Prize points will be the full and exclusive responsibility of the winner. Winner is also solely responsible for all costs, fees, expenses, and other charges that are directly or indirectly related to the use of their Prize (e.g., travel costs such as baggage fees, ground transportation, parking, hotels, tips, souvenirs, meals, alcoholic beverages, phone or internet charges, insurance, passports and the like). Winner accepts all responsibility for ensuring that they follow each appropriate state and/or international guidelines and rules for travel to and from their selected destination. Promotional Entities are not responsible for any illness contracted or injury sustained by winner as a result of using any Prize. Please see the additional terms and limitations applicable to the Prize in the General Rules.
