The future of airport security could be taking shape in Las Vegas, where the Transportation Security Administration is testing out a new checkpoint prototype that comes with a heavy self-service vibe.
For now, it’s just a test of new ideas, though elements that prove successful could be eventually incorporated into the agency’s standard screening process. TPG’s Sean Cudahy was in Las Vegas for the unveiling of the checkpoint, and he tells you everything you need to know about the project.
Delta Air Lines is dropping four routes — including Los Angeles-London — and will significantly reduce its offerings from Westchester County Airport (HPN) in New York City’s northern suburbs. Spirit Airlines unveiled seven new routes — including two to Puerto Rico — but followed that up a few days later by axing 13 routes elsewhere in its network.
