Perhaps the busiest among the bunch was Frontier Airlines. It announced a whopping 54 new routes across 38 different airports, beefing up at major hubs like Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport that could suggest a shift in strategy at the ultra-low-cost carrier.
Sun Country Airlines took notice of Frontier’s expansion, risking a turf war by quickly adding an overlapping new route of its own.
Closing out the action was startup airline Breeze Airways, which unveiled three new summertime routes from its fast-growing base at Raleigh-Durham.
