Last year, Hyatt teased a new partnership in Las Vegas that would see The Venetian Resort Las Vegas (made up of The Venetian and The Palazzo) join World of Hyatt. As of now, that partnership is live, and World of Hyatt members can now earn and burn at the only all-suite resort on the Strip.

Starting Jan. 9, World of Hyatt members can earn and redeem points on qualifying stays at The Venetian and The Palazzo if booked through Hyatt's direct channels (like the Hyatt website or app). They can also earn credit toward earning tier status and Milestone Rewards, check off a new Brand Explore Award box, and earn points at participating retailers and restaurants when charged to the room.

Elite members with qualifying stays at The Venetian Resort can expect to earn:

  • 5 base points per eligible $1 spent on rooms and resort fees; at 20-plus participating restaurants and bars; and at select retail locations at The Venetian and The Palazzo when charged to your room. (Alcohol, taxes and other exclusions apply.)
  • 4 bonus points per eligible $1 for World of Hyatt Credit Card members on eligible spend when charged to your room (see rates and fees).
  • Standard tier bonus points for elite tier members on eligible room rates and resort fees; eligible spend at participating restaurants and bars; and select retail locations at The Venetian and The Palazzo when charged to your room.
  • Credit toward earning tier status and Milestone Rewards.
  • On-property benefits for elite members from The Venetian Resort, like Invited Guest check-in; late checkout and early check-in (pending availability); suite upgrades (pending availability); and discounts on gondola rides and select retail locations.

They can also redeem points for free nights at The Venetian and The Palazzo as well as 1,350-plus Hyatt hotels globally.

Restaurants owned by The Venetian Resort (like Bouchon by chef Thomas Keller and Cut by Wolfgang Puck) will participate in the program. But don't expect to earn money everywhere — like at Tao or its world-famous nightclub.

There are a few things elite members should not expect no matter their status, according to the terms and conditions:

  • complimentary bottled water
  • guaranteed availability
  • free parking
  • club lounge access
  • waived resort, destination or facility fees
  • Guest of Honor privileges

Free bottled water isn't the biggest loss in the world, but it's a bummer to see qualified elites will still be on the hook for hefty resort fees and parking. (Luckily, we have a handy guide to avoiding parking fees in Las Vegas.)

Reestablishing presence in Las Vegas

The Venetian Resort joining World of Hyatt is a big win for the Chicago-based hotel company and its 50-plus million loyalty members, considering that a significant strategic relationship between Hyatt and MGM Resorts (and its many hotels) ended in 2023. When that partnership ended, Hyatt loyalists looking to visit Sin City had few options, namely the off-strip Rio Hotel & Casino.

Now, Hyatt members can once again earn and burn on the Strip — and feel like they're in Venice, Italy, while doing so.

"This is just such a great partnership and match for our expansion and presence in Vegas," Laurie Blair, Hyatt's head of global marketing, told TPG in a briefing about the partnership. "[It will] be so beneficial for World of Hyatt members.

At the moment, however, the partnership might not benefit members of The Venetian's own loyalty program, Venetian Rewards (formerly Grazie Rewards). For now, Venetian Rewards will remain fully independent and will not offer status match opportunities or other mutual benefits, as seen in similar partnerships with gambling-focused resorts.

THE VENETIAN RESORT

A shiny new Venetian

Since TPG's last review of the all-suite Venetian Resort in 2023, the property has been working on a $1.5 billion (yes, billion) reinvestment of the property. It includes a new design across The Venetian's 4,000 all-suite rooms, new restaurants and an overhaul of the property's convention center.

This comes after the majorly successful opening of The Sphere at The Venetian, one of the world's most technologically advanced entertainment venues; it doubles as a 300-foot-tall domed screen on the outside and a 20,000-seat venue inside. It has already hosted residences from major acts like U2.

Stay & Play like a VIP

To celebrate the dynamic new partnership, World of Hyatt is auctioning off a Find Experience that will see one World of Hyatt member and a lucky guest get the Venetian VIP treatment over a three-night weekend stay. They'll enjoy a Luxury King Suite with views of the Sphere, a food and beverage credit to use at the resort, two VIP suite tickets to a concert at the Sphere, a gondola ride through the canals, and a reserved Venetian Cabana at the pool.

Bidding is now open online through Jan. 16.

Bottom line:

Hyatt is on the rebound in Las Vegas with its partnership with The Venetian Resort. Though nothing about the benefits is surprising or fresh (OK, besides that first-time Hyatt members get a discount on gondola rides), World of Hyatt members can rest assured that they can once again earn and burn again on the Las Vegas Strip.
