United Airlines elite status holders can receive 15,000 MileagePlus miles when signing up for a Clear membership — now through April 1.

If you don't have Clear yet, there's never been a better time to enroll as you'll not only enjoy a faster, touchless experience at airport security, but you'll get 15,000 bonus miles that are worth $182 (according to TPG's latest valuations).

Remember that United Premier members already can enjoy an annual Clear membership for a discounted price of $109 per year (or $79 off) — so Clear will be well worth having under your belt, at least for the first year.

But TPG readers are savvy, so keep on reading to find out how you can get Clear potentially for free by stacking an existing American Express credit.

The details

If you're a United Premier status holder (of any level), you can sign up for a Clear membership through this exclusive link. You'll just need to input your basic information and MileagePlus number to verify your eligibility.

Once you successfully enroll in Clear, you can get 15,000 bonus miles, which should hit your account within six to eight weeks.

The deal gets even sweeter if you are a cardholder of The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express.

When paying with either one of these cards, you'll get up to a $189 annual statement credit toward a Clear membership.

That means United elite members who carry the Amex Platinum or Amex Business Platinum can get Clear — entirely for free — and get 15,000 MileagePlus miles with this unique double-stacking opportunity. Just don't forget to sign up through the exclusive link.

Bottom line

If you're a Platinum cardholder who has procrastinated on signing up for Clear, this is one of the best times to enroll and put one of the (many) statement credits to work. Even for those who don't also carry an eligible Amex card, earning 15,000 bonus miles for signing up for Clear is still a great deal — if you enroll by April 1.
