The Points Guy is thrilled to announce that Scott Mayerowitz, deputy business editor at the Associated Press, will be joining the TPG team to lead our editorial coverage in 2019 and beyond.

Scott will join as executive editorial director in January, supervising the company's six editorial sections. In addition to building TPG's aviation news and points and miles coverage, Scott will also be pioneering new coverage, including data studies and the business of airlines and the travel industry. He will be based in New York, where he lives with his wife and their daughter.

Before joining the Associated Press in 2011 as a reporter covering airlines, Scott was a business and travel reporter and producer for ABC News, and a statehouse reporter for the Providence Journal in Rhode Island. He brings with him many years of experience covering the travel industry, along with a deep knowledge of credit cards and travel loyalty programs. He prefers the window seat, when practical.

TPG's current editorial director Julian Mark Kheel will shift to director of special projects, helming the development of the new TPG app, along with a redesign of the main website, newsletter and other integral projects.

We're extremely excited to have Scott on board. You can follow him @GlobeTrotScott on Twitter and Instagram — please welcome him to the team!
