School's out for the year and temperatures are soaring. You know what that means – it's time for a summer vacation.

Unfortunately, temperatures aren't the only thing on the rise. TPG recently reported that hotel prices are up 29% from a year ago and an 18% spike in airfare prices between March and April 2022, the highest one-month jump in history.

We would never let a little thing like sticker shock come between you and your vacation. That's why we rounded up our top family-friendly hotel deals and steals in the U.S. and beyond to help spend less money on big summer fun.

Universal Orlando Resort – Orlando

(Photo by Roberto Machado Noa/LightRocket/Getty Images)

This summer, Universal Orlando Resort is rewarding guests who stay (and play) longer. Guests who purchase a two-park, four-day base ticket between now and Sept. 30, 2022, can take advantage of ticket prices that start at just $79 per adult. You'll need that two-park ticket if you want to bounce between Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida on the same day, as well as to ride the Hogwarts Express between both sections of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

You have until March 31, 2023, to use the tickets. However, if you book a hotel stay for travel dates between now and Aug. 13, 2022, you can save an additional 20% on a stay of five nights or more at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Cabana Bay is one of TPG's favorite Universal Orlando hotels because of the cost, its proximity to Universal's Volcano Bay water park, its amazing pool complex and the resort's unique, retro theming.

You'll find full details on this and other Universal vacation packages here.

Atlantis Bahamas — Paradise Island, Bahamas

(Photo by Katie Genter/The Points Guy)

This summer, Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas is giving families more free time to slide, snorkel, swim or sit back and relax on the beach at the 141-acre Aquaventure water park or one of the resort's 11 pools with a limited-time "fourth night free" promotion.

The special applies to the resort's Royal or Coral properties and must be booked before July 6, 2022, for travel dates through Oct. 31, 2022. Rather than displaying the rate for the fourth night as $0 when booking, the rate for each night is displayed at a 25% discount off the best available rate. This means you'll be responsible for taxes and fees, including the $59 daily resort fee.

The Royal and the Coral are both participants in the Marriott Bonvoy program. Bonvoy members can get this same deal and their Marriott Bonvoy points by booking directly through Marriott.

In fact, the pricing we saw was slightly less expensive on Marriott's site than it was on the official Atlantis site. On the Atlantis site, a four-night stay at the Coral in mid-August was $1,306.92 all in. Through Marriott, the same stay was only $1,280.33.

If you hope to use points, we'd recommend staying at least five nights instead of four. This promotion doesn't apply to points redemption stays, but you will still get the "fifth night free" reward that's standard with Marriott points redemption stays.

Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts — Punta Cana and Riviera Maya

(Photo by Scott Mayerowitz/The Points Guy)

Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts has locations in Punta Cana and Riviera Maya and both destinations are celebrating the Summer of SpongeBob now through Sept. 7, 2022 (must book by Aug. 30, 2022).

There's more to the Summer of SpongeBob than scavenger hunts with SpongeBob-themed prizes, SpongeBob viewing parties and Bikini-Bottom-inspired eats. It's also your family's chance to save up to 40% on your accommodations and receive up to $400 in resort credits to use during your stay. The amount you receive is based on the length of your stay and the dollar amount is split between various offerings.

Room rates at the Punta Cana location typically trend lower than those at the Riviera Maya location. We were able to find a swim-up suite in early September for less than $450 per night before fees and taxes (almost $500 less than the standard rate of $943 per night).

Resorts World Bimini — Bimini, Bahamas

(Photo courtesy of Resorts World Bimini)

In partnership with Tropic Ocean Airways, Resorts World Bimini is offering summertime guests the opportunity to arrive in style by seaplane to kick off their vacation.

The Fly & Stay package starts at $499 per person and includes round-trip airfare between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Bimini N. Seaplane Base (NSB), a two- or three-night stay at the Hilton at Resorts World Bimini and complimentary entry to Bimini Beach.

Arriving by semi-private seaplane means you can access a private terminal with quicker processing through customs and a quick 25-minute flight that lands directly at your resort.

Pricing varies based on the number of nights and whether you choose to stay mid-week or on the weekend. The package is good for stays through the end of July 2022.

Conrad New York Downtown — New York City

(Photo courtesy of Conrad New York Downtown)

The Conrad New York Downtown is an all-suite hotel located along the banks of the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan — an optimal launch pad for your Big Apple adventures. Speaking of adventure, the hotel is offering families multiple opportunities to experience NYC in a fun, educational and comfortable way.

With the Family Suite Escape package, families who book a suite can book a second "kids" room for only $300. With regular rates averaging around $500 and $600 per night in the summer, that's a significant savings. This special also includes complimentary Prosecco for parents and milk and cookies for the kids.

You must call or text the hotel directly to book this package. Be sure to give them your Hilton Honors number so you don't miss out on your points earnings.

While you've got them on the phone (or in your inbox), ask about the "Little Kid, Big City" adventure kit. "Little Kid, Big City" is a children's book by author Beth Beckman that serves as a kid-friendly, self-guided tour of New York City's most historic landmarks.

The package is $75 and includes an adventure kit with a copy of the book, stickers, activities and more. When you complete the itinerary, you'll get a prize from the hotel's guest relations team.

Through a partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society, the hotel is offering a Call of the Wild package for stays through Oct. 31, 2022. Included in the package is a 20% discount on tickets to local zoos and aquariums, a 10% discount on standard guest rooms (25% on suites), a plush zoo animal and sweet treats for kids, and a $25 food and beverage credit to use during your stay.

The package requires a two-night minimum stay and room rates start at around $500 per night.

If your kids have been begging to go camping, but your idea of roughing it is using sheets with a thread count under 800, the Westin Houston, Memorial City may have a solution that'll please all parties involved.

The hotel's Indoor Camping package, which runs through the end of 2022, provides kids with a cozy tent set up inside your room prior to check-in, an armadillo plushy to take home, hot chocolate for the kids, free self-parking and complimentary breakfast for one adult and two children per day.

Package rates start around $300 per night (about $50 more than the standard rate) and cannot be booked using Marriott Bonvoy points (though you will earn points for your stay when you pay cash).

Prices start at around $200 per night and the package is good for stays of two nights or longer between now and April 30, 2023. However, you'll want at least that much time to see the sights, swim in the hotel's rooftop pool and spend some time at the beach.

Margaritaville Nassau – Nassau, Bahamas

Margaritaville Beach Resort in Nassau, Bahamas is a sweet spot for your family to unwind any time of year, but their summertime "Fam"tastic Stay & Play package makes it even sweeter.

For stays of five nights or more between now and Nov. 19, 2022, families can enjoy a $350 food and beverage credit to use during their stay. That's a lot of salt-rimmed margaritas and cheeseburgers (in paradise).

You'll also enjoy unlimited access to the resort's water park and Parakeets Kid's Club (which typically starts at $45 per child, per day). Prices start at around $300 per night.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess — Scottsdale

Arizona's Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is celebrating summer with an adventurous package that little explorers will love.

The Family Adventure Package includes family-friendly treasures like treasure hunt supplies for kids, admission to daily activities where they can play archaeologist, Saturday night fireworks, dive-in movies, DJ-led glow parties at the pool on the weekends and a complimentary second room where the kids can relive the day's adventures while you relax.

To get the discount, both rooms must be booked at the same time, under the same name and using the same credit card. We recommend calling the hotel directly to book to ensure the second room codes correctly.

Summertime room rates average around $400 per night and the Family Adventure Package package is good for stays between now and Sept. 5, 2022.

Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort — Cancun

The HIlton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort opened in November 2021 as part of Hilton's expansion into Mexico. Not only is it one of the newest resorts in the area, it's also one of the best for families with a beachfront splash pool for kids, a kids' club with an outdoor playground and two-bedroom family suites.

This summer, they're enticing families with a Summer Family Getaway package. It includes a 25% discount on a connecting room when you book two rooms, round-trip airport transportation and a family dinner reservation at the resort's beachfront restaurant, Sunan.

This package runs through Sept. 30, 2022, but you can save even more on select dates through Dec. 15, 2022 (Aug. 21-Oct. 31 and Dec. 1-Dec. 15) because kids under 13 stay and eat free. You'll need to call the hotel directly to book, though, because our online search did add a charge for kids under 13.

All-inclusive room rates begin at around $400 or 95,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver – Denver

At first glance, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver may seem too trendy and stylish to have kids running around, but the rooms and amenities will prove you wrong pretty quickly. The hotel has family-friendly suites, baby equipment rentals, welcome gifts for kids, and scooters (and helmets) kids can use during your stay.

Package rates start at around $300 or 54,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.

Bottom line

As you can see, hotels are getting creative with their family-friendly offerings, whether its theme park tickets or dig site scavenger hunts. No matter where your travels take you this summer, don't hit "book now" without searching for any available deals or specials.

It'll be worth your time...and money.
