Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here.

Update: Unfortunately a small number of flights will be operated by an A380 that does not offer Premium Economy. These dates will still be available to reserve, but you'll be booked into the regular economy cabin ("Y" class) rather than Premium Economy ("P"). Be careful to note your cabin and booking class before ticketing.

The airline has confirmed that the below dates do NOT have Premium Economy available. All flights beginning September 16 will have this cabin, however.

SQ25 ex-JFK (JFKFRA or JFKSIN): AUG 1 / 4 / 5 / 8 / 11 / 12 / 15 / 18 / 19 / 25, SEP 1 / 8 / 15
SQ26 ex-FRA (FRAJFK): AUG 1 / 4 / 5 / 8 / 11 / 12 / 15 / 18 / 19 / 25, SEP 1 / 8 / 15
SQ26 ex-SIN (SINJFK): AUG 3 / 4 / 7 / 10 / 11 / 14 / 17 / 18 / 24 / 31, SEP 7 / 14

Last year, Singapore Airlines began introducing its new Premium Economy seat on select flights, including those operated by the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER. As you'd expect, you'll pay a bit more over economy fares to travel in comfort, as we discovered when reviewing the new seat last year, but we've teamed up with Singapore Airlines to offer a fantastic sale on Premium Economy, giving you a chance to fly in this superior cabin for roughly the same price as (or even less than) coach — plus, you'll earn full mileage for your flights!

Airlines: Singapore Airlines

Routes: JFK to FRA, SIN, BKK or DPS

Cost: $999-1,399 round-trip in Premium Economy

Dates: July 31 through November 30, 2016

Booking Link: Singapore Airlines

Pay With: American Express Premier Rewards Gold, Citi Prestige or Chase Sapphire Preferred

To score these excellent sale fares, you need to book your flight by March 17 (11:59pm Singapore time or 11am local time in New York) for travel beginning between July 31 and November 30, 2016. Sale fares are only available originating in New York, and for travel beginning on July 31 (the date Singapore has confirmed for its Premium Economy launch from JFK). You can fly any day of the week, but you need to begin with Singapore flight 25 and end your trip with Singapore flight 26. There's a maximum stay of three months, and no minimum stay.

These fares cannot be upgraded to business or first-class, unfortunately, but they do book into the "P" fare class, so you'll earn full elite and redeemable miles in both KrisFlyer (110% of the flight distance) or United MileagePlus (100% of the flight distance).

As part of this sale, you can fly round-trip from New York to Frankfurt for $999 round-trip. You can also travel on to Asia (via Frankfurt) for $1,399 round-trip, flying to Singapore, Bangkok or Bali. Note that onward flights from Singapore (to BKK and DPS) will be in Singapore's regular economy cabin, as Premium Economy isn't available on those routes. Also note that some flights between Frankfurt and Singapore do not offer Premium Economy — if you select one of these flights, you'll fly in regular economy (booked in "Y" class).

In Premium Economy, you'll be traveling in a larger seat that measures 19.5 inches wide with 8 inches of recline and a 38-inch pitch. You'll also have a huge 13.3-inch touchscreen display with tons of content, a touchscreen handset and noise-canceling headphones to use during the flight, along with USB ports for charging gadgets and Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, Premium Economy passengers can order from a special Book the Cook menu, letting you reserve your entree choice in advance, and Singapore serves Champagne in this cabin.

Singapore Airlines will offer Premium Economy on the above routes, so you may have a chance to fly it soon, even if you aren't based in the New York area. The airline has already begun offering Premium Economy on flights from Los Angeles to Tokyo and San Francisco to Seoul, but unfortunately those routes are not available as part of this sale. Singapore hasn't yet announced plans to bring its new seat to the Houston to Moscow route, which is operated by a 777-300ER.

July 31 Inaugural Flight

As you may have noticed, this sale includes the option to fly from JFK to Frankfurt on July 31, which is the inaugural flight for Premium Economy on this route (above is the current seat map for that flight). We can't confirm any details just yet, but there's a chance that a TPG representative will be on board and Singapore Airlines may provide a memento of the flight, so if a July 31 departure fits within your plans, you might be in for a special treat on board flight 25 that night.

If you're interested in taking advantage of this sale, don't forget to book by 11am local time in New York on Thursday, March 17!

Will you be taking advantage of Singapore's Premium Economy sale?
