I'm a huge fan of Bermuda — in fact, it's my favorite place to visit in the world, and it's less than a two-hour flight from the East Coast (with inexpensive nonstop flights on AA, Delta, JetBlue and United). The island is small, which adds to its charm, but that also means that hotel options are incredibly limited. TripAdvisor lists 22 hotels in Bermuda, but some of those are actually guest houses and B&Bs, so the selection is even smaller than that. I've stayed at three hotels over the years: Newstead Belmont Hills, The Reefs and most recently Rosewood Tucker's Point, which is absolutely fantastic, but pricey (review coming soon).

Fortunately, there's currently some relief. Each year Bermuda runs what it calls a "Pink Sale," which lets you book most of the hotels at 50% off for stays in the winter, spring and fall. You must book by January 25 and travel between January 8 and April 30 or September 7 and December 31 (some hotels have blackout dates during those periods). Rosewood Tucker's Point is available, as is Newstead Belmont Hills and The Reefs.

Officially, rates at Rosewood start at $225 per night, but I've found better than that, such as the $160 per night seen above. And that's for a premium room that measures 600 square feet! Better yet, the room is fully refundable up to 14 days prior to arrival — and it should be bookable with the Citi Prestige card's 4th Night Free, as I've booked a speciality rate at this hotel through Citi just a few weeks ago. If you've been on the fence about visiting Bermuda, this sale is hard to beat — and you can find flights from NYC for as little as $239 round-trip, including BDA's relatively high departure tax.

Will you be taking advantage of this sale?
