Luxury travelers heading to the Bay Area can expect a major glow-up at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay debuting this month.

The luxe resort unveiled Wednesday the results of an expansive, multimillion-dollar renovation of its guest rooms, suites, spa and restaurants. The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay first opened in 2001 on a point overlooking the bay and evokes a Scottish Highlands-meets-Northern California vibe. It's also a TPG favorite for Marriott Bonvoy points splurges.

The renovation, executed by the creative team at hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates, is meant to complement the resort's natural surroundings and lean into California coastal luxury.

"We are thrilled to see our vision of 'Redesigning Elegance' come to life this year," Mathieu Riviere, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, said in a statement. "In tandem with our world-renowned design partner, our iconic property will undoubtedly continue to be a beacon of splendor and style for decades to come."

The design of the revamped guest rooms and suites is meant to be a subtle nod to property features that guests have come to expect from a stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. Textured fabrics reflect the surrounding sand dunes, while leather accents are symbolic of the local area's equestrian heritage. You'll also find plaid accents that evoke some of those Scottish vibes throughout the property.

The Ritz-Carlton's fine dining restaurant, Navio, also got a makeover and now has redesigned table settings and updated flooring to give a refreshed feel to the space's nautical atmosphere and vaulted ceilings. The Conservatory, Navio's sister restaurant, also got an update of its midcentury aesthetic — and both dining venues retained their oceanfront views.

The Spa at Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay now has renovated changing rooms and relaxation rooms. The spa's treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, cold plunge and whirlpool have also been updated. In tandem with the property refresh, the resort is planning to offer pop-up partnerships with wine and spirit brands, exclusive dinners with an emphasis on local ingredients and wines, curated in-room Ritz Kids and pet amenities, and other guest experiences.

Check in for the high thread count and decadent service, and don't be surprised if you leave feeling like Gwyneth Paltrow once you've experienced the coastal California luxury at this stunning Marriott Bonvoy property.
