Some of the most intriguing incentives like cash back, phone insurance and trip cancellation coverage are usually reserved for credit cards — sometimes with high annual fees. But now there’s actually a cash-back debit card that offers up to 5x on eligible purchases, plus all of the perks I just mentioned, and more.
PointCard™ Neon is a debit card with unlimited cash back on eligible purchases and exclusive rewards on some of the most popular spending categories, including subscriptions like Netflix, food delivery and even rideshare services. It’s simple to fund your PointCard — transfers are unlimited, and your money is safe thanks to included deposit insurance.
Read on to learn more about how you can earn cash back and enjoy valuable perks with PointCard Neon.
Cash back
You can earn up to 5x points on things you’re already buying. Here’s how you can earn cash back with your PointCard:
- 5x points on subscriptions like Netflix, Spotify, HBO Max and more.
- 3x points on food delivery and rideshare apps like DoorDash and Uber.
- 1x points on everything else.
Your cash back — which comes in the form of points worth 1 cent apiece — never expires, and there’s also no limit to the amount of cash back you can earn.
Bonus earnings at select merchants
In addition to set cash-back categories, you’ll also benefit from a revolving selection of cash-back offers on popular retailers like Nike and Amazon. Known as PointCard Access, these limited-time offers allow you to stack rewards by using your PointCard to make purchases through shopping portals like Rakuten and others.
Here are examples of current Access offers — though note these are subject to change:
- Whole Foods: 5x points
- Clear: 10x points
- Amazon: 5x points
- Gopuff: 5x points
- Rag & bone: 15x points
Fast transfers
Unlike when transferring money from one institution to another — which may require you to wait multiple days or even a week to get your money — you can instantly transfer funds to your Point account from other debit cards. That means your balance will be updated immediately and can be used for purchases right away.
You also have the option to initiate standard bank transfers, but the speed of using a debit card makes this the better option.
Virtual card for instant purchases
In addition to instant transfers from other debit cards, you’ll also gain immediate access to a virtual card number upon approval. This means that you can start earning points right away — without waiting for a physical card to arrive in the mail.
Your Point virtual card is perfect for online purchases this holiday season, and it’s also compatible with Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can immediately add your virtual card to your digital wallet for in-store purchases — and start earning points from day one.
Point app and other features
Designed for precision, speed and ease-of-use, PointCard’s companion app was created with the cardholder in mind — down to the very last detail. As a Point member, you’ll also experience human-centered customer service.
PointCard Neon is available in four color editions that add excitement to your wallet, and the physical debit card itself supports contactless payments when used at brick-and-mortar locations. You’ll also enjoy two free ATM withdrawals each month (with a maximum $8 transaction fee), and foreign transaction fees are waived on PointCard purchases outside the U.S.
With PointCard Neon, you can rest easy knowing there is zero fraud liability, and that you can immediately lock your card if it’s lost or stolen. What's more, because you can transfer funds so quickly to the card yourself, you can always have sufficient funds for your purchases.
Additional perks
The perks of using your PointCard don’t stop at cash back — benefits like phone and travel cancellation insurance usually only come with high-tier premium credit cards, but now you can get them with your debit card.
