One&Only is opening its first US resort this November — and it has an alpine lake beach and direct ski access
Storied hotel group One&Only is now taking reservations for its first-ever property in the United States, which was featured on TPG's list of the most exciting hotel openings for 2025.
The much anticipated One&Only Moonlight Basin, which plans to open Nov. 18, will also mark the ultraluxury brand's first alpine resort in addition to its first in the U.S., the company told The Points Guy. Once open, the property will sit on 240 acres in Big Sky, Montana, offering access to everything from skiing and ice fishing in winter to horseback riding and golf in warmer months.
According to the property, nightly rates start at $1,950 before taxes.
"Our first alpine resort seamlessly blends refined hospitality with the untamed beauty of nature, offering an unparalleled escape for adventurers and luxury seekers alike," Mark Kirby, the president of One&Only, said in a statement shared with TPG. "We look forward to welcoming our first guests this November to this truly extraordinary destination."
The hotel will feature 73 guest rooms and suites in the main lodge, along with 19 guest cabins. Rooms are large, ranging from more than 700 square feet to more than 3,400 square feet, and feature balconies with vast mountain views, cozy fireplaces, oak-lined walls and deep soaking tubs in front of large windows.
The property evokes a deep sense of place thanks to amenities like the hotel's private alpine lake beach and kids club featuring both indoor and outdoor activities inspired by the destination. Foodies will enjoy the six bars and restaurants, including modern Japanese cuisine from chef and former professional snowboarder Akira Back, who will open his namesake restaurant next winter.
Travelers who don't want to wait to experience the One&Only in the U.S. can currently visit the Sky Lodge, a ski lodge the company opened in December. There, visitors will find a restaurant and bar, The Landing, which is accessible from either the One&Only heated gondola or by car, along with a shop and alpine equipment center.
The Landing will be open through April 27, and will reopen June 5 for the summer.
Beyond Big Sky, One&Only operates luxury hotels across the world from Dubai and Cape Town to Mexico, Rwanda and beyond.
