Earlier this week, United, the official airline of the PGA Tour, announced it has partnered with the PGA to offer MileagePlus members a slew of unique new insider benefits including special discounts and access to the 32 North American golf courses within the PGA Tour's TPC Network.

MileagePlus Premier members can get up to 20% off on starting times and golf club rentals at a dozen of the Tour's courses, including Deere Run, Las Vegas, Scottsdale and Tampa Bay, while all MileagePlus members can get up to 10% off.

There are also golf vacation packages including one to The Old White at TPC at The Greenbrier that includes unlimited golf and access at the legendary golf resort's three courses as well as accommodation starting at $240 per person; and another package at TPC San Antonio that includes a two-night stay at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country, one round of golf on the AT&T Canyons course, one round on the AT&T Oaks course and a one-hour lesson at TOURAcademy for $365 per person per night.

Those looking to improve their game can book lessons at a 10% discount at the PGA's TOURAcademy locations in San Antonio, Scottsdale, Las Vegas and Sawgrass; and there are also PGA Tour experiences up for auction specifically for MileagePlus members including recent ones like two Pro-Am spots at both the 2013 The Barclays and the Shriners Hospital for Children's Open, as well as trips to Montreal, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Hawaii to walk inside the ropes as Honorary Observers in some of the Tour's tournaments.

You can even use miles to bid on these, such as the current PGA Tour experience up for auction, The RBC Heritage Inside the Ropes Experience that includes:

  • Roundtrip United Economy® domestic airfare for two (2) to Savannah, Georgia
  • Four (4) nights hotel accommodations at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa (check in April 16; check out April 20)
  • Rental Car
  • Two (2) Honorary Observer positions for Thursday (April 17, 2014)
  • Two (2) Weekly Clubhouse Badges
  • Two (2) PGA TOUR official gift bags

Current bidding is up to 81,000 miles - so you could be looking at some real value here depending on how high the bidding goes since just the hotel room alone is going for $299 per night around the time of the tournament.

While these discounts aren't huge, if you're a golf fan, it's nice to get some small savings off fun golf events, trips and more, as well as to be able to use your miles at potentially decent rates to see the pros play.
