South American carrier LATAM is making it a bit easier to check out Patagonia or Iguazu Falls this winter.

The Chilean carrier will resume flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) in Buenos Aires after a three-year hiatus Dec. 1. LATAM will offer a daily flight on the route with a Boeing 787 with up to 300 seats.

No word if the planes will feature LATAM's new business-class suites.

Pro tips: The biggest mistakes people make with travel rewards credit cards

LATAM and its former subsidiary LATAM Argentina have a long history on the Miami-Buenos Aires route. The latter offered flights in the market from 2004 until it shut down during the pandemic, schedule data from aviation analytics firm Cirium shows. LATAM then flew the route in 2021 and 2022.

With seven nonstops from Miami to South America already, it is little surprise that LATAM is returning to the Miami-Buenos Aires route. The market is not only a gap in its robust service from Miami to South America but also one of the five largest markets between the U.S. and South America, according to Bureau of Transportation Statistics data via Cirium.

American Airlines and Aerolineas Argentinas fly the Miami-Buenos Aires route, Cirium schedules show.

The new flight benefits Delta Air Lines flyers as well as LATAM loyalists. Delta and LATAM are close partners, with the former feeding the latter's South American flights in Miami with nonstops to 12 U.S. airports, including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Miami is Delta's third gateway to Buenos Aires after its own nonstops from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and JFK.

Tickets for LATAM's new Miami-Buenos Aires flight will be available in the coming days.

Below are details of LATAM's new Miami-Buenos Aires route.

  • Depart Miami at 10:15 p.m. and arrive in Buenos Aires at 8:55 a.m. the next day
  • Depart Buenos Aires at 10:55 a.m. and arrive in Miami at 5:50 p.m.
