"The opening of JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa marks a milestone moment for the brand with its entrance into Greece," Bruce Rohr, vice president and global brand leader for JW Marriott, said in a press release. "This extraordinary property captures the essence of the JW Marriott brand, pairing warm, intuitive service with serene, thoughtfully designed spaces that invite guests to be present and truly connect. Crete's timeless beauty and heritage make it an inspiring setting for the brand's first property in the country, and we look forward to welcoming guests to experience our signature approach to hospitality and well-being on this iconic island."
Each of this Mediterranean beach resort's 160 guest rooms, suites and villas features panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, a natural design aesthetic that blends with the rugged coastline and a shaded terrace. Several rooms also have private pools from which guests can further soak up the sea views.

The overall resort design incorporates natural materials and sustainability in many forms, including geothermal and solar energy systems, heat recovery from air conditioning for hot water, and the use of treated gray water for irrigation.

The hotel also has four swimming pools, including an adults-only pool and a family pool. For the ultimate in relaxation, guests can visit Anoseas Spa, a full-service spa featuring "traditional Cretan healing rituals with modern immersive therapies," according to the press release.

In addition to five treatment rooms, spa guests have access to hydrotherapy experiences and a beauty room. All guests have access to the hotel's yoga deck and fitness center.

The JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa has six dining venues, ranging from the Cretan open-fire restaurant Anoee to the sea-to-table Onalos and the Mediterranean-inspired Fayi. Guests can also visit Suncti by the pool; Eexis for wine, cocktails and light dishes; and the JW Market cafe. All six dining concepts utilize the brand's signature JW Garden, which provides home-grown herbs and vegetables to the resort's restaurants.
