IHG Announces PointBreaks Properties for Winter 2015

IHG unveiled its latest PointBreaks list with a bunch of hotel options available for 5,000 points per night. There are a range of properties available — primarily Holiday Inns in smaller markets, but there are a few Crowne Plaza hotels and even an Intercontinental property in Egypt. This is an ongoing promotion with quarterly changes, but the latest update is available for travel dates between October 26, 2015 and January 31, 2016.
Depending on the stay, there are some great values to be had, as many of these locations usually cost at least $100 or 25,000 points per night. TPG values IHG points at 0.7 cents each, so you'd be redeeming points worth $35 per night as part of this promotion. As usual, many of the locations on this list aren't particularly appealing, but if you're already planning a visit there's a great chance to save on a hotel stay. Conversely, there are a few notable properties that might be worth going out of your way to visit.
Here are a few of potential choices:
Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa: There are plenty of reasons to love Bali, and even more things to do on a visit. Rooms start around $85 or 25,000 points per night at this property.
Crowne Plaza Pittsfield-Berkshires: Take a trip to New England's Berkshires this fall and winter and stay at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The hotel is located near a number of outdoor activities to enjoy the fall and winter weather in New England. Rooms here start around $110 or 30,000 points per night.
Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park - Oxford: Take a trip outside of London on your next trip to the UK and stay at this Crowne Plaza located near Oxford. Rooms at this property typically start around $130 or 20,000 points per night.

As a reminder, IHG recently added a new rule that IHG Rewards Club members may only book two PointBreaks reservations at each hotel offered in a given period. However, there is no limit to how many nights can be booked at the discounted rate for each of those two reservations. That said, award space is limited at IHG hotels, and the best PointBreaks properties tend to go quickly.
