Hyatt just unveiled a handy new feature for those searching for award availability on the brand's website.

World of Hyatt told TPG that when guests are searching for award availability at a specific property, they'll now see a points calendar that shows when award nights are, and are not, available. "Members can adjust dates, length of stay, guests, and room type to find the right reservation for them," a Hyatt spokesperson said in an emailed press release.

As you can see in the screenshots below, a "points calendar" feature now appears when you try to book a specific hotel, in this case, the Park Hyatt Chicago.

Once you click on that link, it opens a calendar that shows availability on a month-to-month basis. As you can see, I was able to book Thursday but not Friday night.

Coincidentally, I'm currently using World of Hyatt points for a free night at the Park Hyatt Chicago. When I booked it, I had to search around to find a night with availability. This new feature would have made my search much easier.

It will be incredibly useful for popular hotels like the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, where availability is hard to come by. Here you can see there are several days in a row with availability in February 2026.

The interactive map during Hyatt searches also now allows you to see where points bookings are available.

"If a member has a destination in mind, and is interested in seeing which hotels have award availability, the map now shows the lowest points rate, if available, or the cash rate, if award nights are not available for that stay — making it even easier for our members to redeem," Hyatt said.

You can now see updated award availability on both the World of Hyatt app and on the web.

Bottom line

This new feature from World of Hyatt will make award searches much easier and more productive. The ability to view award availability in a calendar format is a change members have been after for some time. I'm also a big fan of the map feature, which can make finding award nights in popular destinations, like Hawaii, that much easier.

As Hyatt told us, the goal is to "... make award travel easier than ever so members can confidently turn their points into unforgettable stays."
