Here's How to Get a Shake Shack Meal for (Almost) Free

Shake Shack is offering a buy one, get one free promotion through Jan. 2, 2019. Although promoted as a buy one, get one free deal, the promotion actually provides $6 off orders of $10 or more at participating locations. This promotion is only available when using the Shake Shack app or website. You'll need to sign in and enter the promo code THANKYOU18 when ordering to get the discount.
But, you can make the promotion even better if you haven't yet used the $10 monthly dining credit that comes with the American Express® Gold Card. In this case, you can get a meal of two ShackBurger singles and two fries for just $11.29 — or effectively $1.29 after the $10 monthly dining credit. Note that the exact price will vary based on state and local taxes.
If you're familiar with the Shake Shake app or website, you're good to go. But if not, here are some screenshots showing you how to order and enter the promo code when using the app. Start by opening the Shake Shack app and tapping the "Order Now" button. Then, select the location and time you want to pick up your order.
Next, select the foods you want to order. When you're ready to checkout, tap the green icon in the lower right corner. If your order is correct, tap the "Checkout" button. On the "Checkout Summary" screen, you can enter the promo code. It doesn't matter what case you use when entering the code.
On the next screen, you should see that the promo code took up to $6 off your order if you ordered at least two burgers.
