New Orleans, Louisiana, will soon welcome the Four Seasons to its roster of luxury hotels.

The highly anticipated property will open its doors to guests on July 21, 2021, in a modernist 34-story landmark building dating back to the 1960s.

Located at the end of Canal Street adjacent to the Mississippi River and near the city's Central Business and Garden Districts as well as the world-famous French Quarter, the new luxury hotel will surely be a refined place to base oneself for a visit to the Big Easy.

The hotel will have 341 rooms and 61 suites as well as a spa, gym, rooftop pool and an observation deck on the 34th floor providing sweeping views over the entire city.

New Orleans is known around the world for its dining, and the Four Seasons should do its new city justice with two restaurants of its own and a lobby-level bar.

Miss River is a restaurant helmed by chef Alon Shaya that will serve "an elevated take on New Orleans favorites, highlighting bold flavors and local ingredients," according to the hotel's website. It will also feature a "Food Stage," where diners can watch their chefs performatively plate their dishes before serving.

Next up is a "signature restaurant" by chef Donald Link, on the fifth floor. It will have an outdoor dining terrace with views of the Mississippi. It's slated to open in October of this year. Finally, the Chandelier Bar will serve up classic New Orleans cocktails under the direction of beverage manager Hadi Ktiri.

The hotel tower may be a modernist marvel, but the guest rooms are on trend for this decade, with an abundance of whites and grays and light wood used throughout.

Initial rates start from $300 per night, which is on the high end for New Orleans but a relative bargain when compared to other Four Seasons hotels in the United States.

Of course, the hotel opens in the middle of the summer, which is not a particularly popular time to visit the city due to its at-times oppressive humidity and heat. As the weather cools off, the rates go up accordingly, with weekend nights in October going for around $625.

The upcoming Four Seasons New Orleans is a welcome addition for anyone looking for a high-end stay in the city. There are a few other five-star luxury properties, including The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, but it's likely the arrival of this hotel will raise the bar when it opens in July.
