If you live in Texas and have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you're getting access to two additional airport lounge facilities. That's because Chase is opening a facility in Austin soon and because the Dallas-Fort Worth airport governing board voted to approve a lounge there.

For context, the first Chase Sapphire lounge is open in the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), with plans for nine additional lounges in the U.S. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) will join that list, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will get a Sapphire Terrace — which is not a traditional lounge, meaning another lounge location is forthcoming.

Here's what we know about these upcoming locations for Chase Sapphire lounges.

Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Sapphire lounge details

The DFW airport's governing board discussed the Sapphire Lounge at its Feb. 9 meeting (found on page 74 of the meeting agenda). The board voted to approve the Sapphire Lounge in Terminal D, according to a spokesperson for the board.

The lease term would last for 10 years and would provide DFW with an annual minimum guarantee of $6.45 million — with a 3% increase each year. Once it opens, the lounge will be near the Capital One Lounge at DFW, located near D22, and not far from the Centurion lounge at D12.

What is the opening date of the Chase Sapphire Lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth?

There's no confirmed date at this time. However, the board meeting documents state that the DFW location would be "one of the first lounges in the U.S." Thus, Chase may be planning to finish the Sapphire lounge at DFW before previously-announced locations in other airports. When we know of a confirmed opening date, we will update this page.

Austin (AUS) Sapphire Terrace facility

Chase upgraded an existing space at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. This space is not a traditional lounge but is named "Sapphire Terrace." This is a combined indoor-outdoor space covering approximately 5,000 square feet. There are complimentary drinks and light bites, as well a variety of seating options both inside and outside.

Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders have complimentary access to the Sapphire Terrace daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can bring two complimentary guests on each visit. All that's necessary for access is showing your Sapphire Reserve card.

What is the opening date of the Chase Sapphire Terrace at Austin?

The Sapphire Terrace is now opening. It held a grand opening on March 20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access for Sapphire Reserve cardholders started at 10:30 a.m.

Daily operating hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Bottom line

Chase is committed to entering the airport lounge market and to giving American Express Centurion Lounges and Capital One Lounges stiff competition. From the permit applications above, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth look like two additional locations for Sapphire facilities.
