What benefits come with DashPass?
DashPass offers several benefits that can help members save on eligible DoorDash orders, including:
- $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders that meet the minimum subtotal requirement
- 5% back in DoorDash credits on eligible pickup orders
- Access to DashPass-exclusive offers
- DashPass membership benefits on eligible orders through Caviar
According to DoorDash, DashPass members save an average of $5 per eligible order. Even if you only use DoorDash occasionally, these savings can add up — especially if you already receive a complimentary DashPass membership through an eligible Chase card.
How to activate your complimentary DashPass membership
Activating this benefit is very simple, and it all happens on the DoorDash website or through the DoorDash app.
- Start by logging into your DoorDash account (you can join at this link if you’re not currently a member).
- Add an eligible card as your default payment method.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to activate your DashPass membership.
Once activated, you can begin using the perks immediately.
If your card's complimentary DoorDash DashPass benefit ends, you'll automatically be enrolled in the program at the typical monthly $9.99 rate. If you don't want this, make sure you cancel your membership before your complimentary membership period ends.
How to use your Chase DoorDash benefits
Once you've activated DashPass with an eligible Chase card, make sure you use that card as your payment method when placing eligible DoorDash orders. If your card offers an additional monthly or quarterly DoorDash promo, you can select it from your available promotions at checkout.
Pay attention to what each promo covers. Some benefits are limited to non-restaurant orders, which can include purchases from eligible grocery stores, convenience stores and other retailers. You'll also want to use the full value of a promo when possible, since any unused amount is forfeited and won't roll over.
I've gotten plenty of value from DoorDash with my Sapphire Preferred. I frequently use the card's monthly non-restaurant promo for grocery and convenience store orders, while DashPass helps me save on delivery and service fees on eligible orders.
I've also earned thousands of Chase Ultimate Rewards points from dining and DoorDash purchases, which I'm putting toward my next vacation.
With the Sapphire Reserve now in my wallet, I plan to use its DoorDash benefits as well, particularly the additional monthly promos recently added to celebrate the card's 10th anniversary.
Bottom line
Thanks to the partnership between Chase and DoorDash, eligible cardmembers can activate by Dec. 31, 2029 to get a complimentary membership with DashPass, unlocking $0 delivery fees and lower service fees.
If you’ve been waiting to use this benefit, sign up for your complimentary DashPass membership with your eligible Chase credit card today — and start saving on your next delivery.
