Breeze Airways is adding a new city — and state — to its growing route map. The Salt Lake City-based low-cost carrier unveiled plans Tuesday to launch service from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire, and with a handful of new routes.

Over the course of 2024, Breeze plans to begin service from Manchester to three nonstop leisure destinations in the Southeast. It will also offer one-stop service to a fourth.

Breeze's new routes from New England include nonstop service to Charleston International Airport (CHS) in South Carolina, which launches just as the summer travel season gets underway. So, too, does a new route to Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Manchester marks the 51st city served by Breeze, which commenced operations in 2021. The announcement comes just a week after the budget carrier made Coastal Carolina Regional Airport (EWN) in New Bern, North Carolina, its 50th city.

New Breeze routes

Here's the full rundown of Breeze's new routes from Manchester:

  • MHT-CHS: Launches June 14 with seasonal service; operates Mondays and Fridays.
  • MHT to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers: Launches Oct. 2 with seasonal service; operates Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • MHT-MCO: Launches June 14; operates Mondays and Fridays.

On top of those three nonstops, Breeze will also offer one-stop service to Tampa International Airport (TPA), with Thursday and Sunday trips beginning Sept. 5.

Dubbed its "BreezeThru" service, travelers booked on an MHT-TPA itinerary will make a stop in Charleston, but with no plane change; guests with Charleston as a final destination will deplane, and others will board — but those continuing on to Tampa will stay on the aircraft.

Breeze will operate each of these new routes with its Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which, the carrier announced last week, will eventually become the sole jet in its fleet.

Shifting service options in Manchester

The arrival of Breeze in New Hampshire also marks a new airline option for travelers in the region.

The airport is about 55 miles from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and — like many smaller airports across the country — has lost service in recent years.

During the second quarter of 2024, airlines will offer about 27% fewer seats out of Manchester than that same period in 2019, according to data from airline analytics firm Cirium.

Notably, the airport is no longer served by Delta Air Lines.

It has, on the other hand, gained a larger number of low-cost carriers. Avelo Airlines, for one, has announced a new Manchester route in recent weeks. The airport is also served by Spirit Airlines.

That's on top of existing service on American Airlines, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines that dates back years.

For its part, Breeze already has a presence in New England. In fact, it has two of its operating bases in the region: Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut, and Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) in Providence.
