Avelo Airlines customers can now use TSA PreCheck
Avelo Airlines travelers now have an easier way to get through security screening.
Effective immediately, TSA PreCheck is now available on Avelo at all 19 of its destinations.
This should especially come in handy at some of Avelo's new destinations in Florida that it serves from New Haven (HVN), Connecticut. Airports like Orlando (MCO) have — at times — been known for long security lines. TSA PreCheck allows pre-cleared, low-risk travelers to use expedited screening lanes, keep liquids and electronics in their bag and keep shoes on.

"Providing Avelo Customers with a quicker, smoother and more relaxing airport experience is a big part of the different and better kind of airline we are building,” Avelo CEO Andrew Levy said in a press release. "The availability of TSA PreCheck is an important enhancement in the convenient and seamless journey our Customers appreciate when flying on Avelo."
Houston-headquartered Avelo launched its first flights out of Burbank (BUR) last April and followed up with its East Coast base in New Haven in November. Unlike fellow low-cost upstart Breeze, which launched flights a month later with PreCheck, Avelo begin its operations without being a part of the trusted traveler program.

PreCheck costs $85 for 5 years. It also comes with Global Entry — a trusted traveler program for customs and immigration — which costs $100 for 5 years. A number of premium and mid-tier credit cards offer a fee credit for TSA PreCheck.
With Avelo now part of TSA PreCheck, travelers who participate in the program now have a much easier journey through security to look forward to.
