Allegiant adds new West Coast airport in 3-route, 5-city expansion
Allegiant Air is setting its sights on a new California city in early 2026. The budget airline on Tuesday announced it will launch nonstop flights from Burbank beginning in February.
It's the latest in a series of network expansions for the Las Vegas-based carrier in recent months, following more than a dozen new routes unveiled this summer.
This will mark the first time Allegiant has served Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), located in suburban Los Angeles, about 30 miles from the region's biggest hub, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Allegiant, of course, is known for serving smaller, more underserved airports — and this announcement marks no change to that trend.

Allegiant's new Burbank service
Beginning Feb. 12, the airline will connect BUR to two West Coast airports:
- Bellingham International Airport (BLI) in Washington
- Provo Airport (PVU) in Utah
Allegiant is far from the first airline to make a move in Burbank in recent months. In fact, the Southern California airport is in the midst of quite a bit of upheaval.
Avelo Airlines this summer announced it would end its BUR base and pull all service from the airport by December, as the carrier abandons its entire West Coast operation.
Low-cost competitor Breeze Airways quickly responded by announcing Burbank service with five new routes. And Alaska Airlines in July bolstered its service from the city with three additional West Coast flights.
Additional changes in the works at Allegiant
In a third route announced Tuesday, Allegiant said it would also begin nonstop flights between Tennessee's Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) — also beginning Feb. 12
"This growth underscores our commitment to providing leisure travelers with more options to reach the destinations they love and strengthens our position as a leader in offering value-oriented air service," Allegiant chief commercial officer Drew Wells said in a statement announcing the news.
The news of Allegiant's service expansion came days after TPG recently reported the carrier was mulling a revamp to its four-year-old loyalty program, with executives saying "the ball's back in our court" to update the program to appeal to more travelers.
