Allegiant adds another new city in 4-route expansion
Allegiant Air is at it again, announcing its second new city in as many days.
This time, it's Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Allegiant will add four Florida routes from Atlantic City, the first of which begins in December.
It's the airline's third expansion during the past month, cumulatively covering 16 new routes and two new cities. Allegiant's other new destination — Huntsville, Alabama — was just announced yesterday.

As for Atlantic City, Allegiant's debut will come Dec. 11, when it launches service to Fort Lauderdale. The three other Florida routes — St. Petersburg, Orlando and Punta Gorda — will all be in service by mid-February. Introductory fares begin at $39 one-way.
The carrier will also ramp up competition at Atlantic City International Airport (ACY), where Spirit Airlines has long dominated the airport. Spirit is currently the only carrier offering passenger flights from Atlantic City, though American Airlines offers a "flight-by-bus" connection to its Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) hub.
All four of Allegiant's new routes will go to markets already served by Spirit, though Spirit flies to different airports in three of those.
