Nationwide Alaska Airlines ground stop just lifted
The Federal Aviation Administration just lifted a nationwide ground stop for Alaska Airlines.
Late Wednesday morning, the FAA issued an advisory stating that Alaska Airlines was in a full nationwide ground stop. The advisory reads that "all Alaska mainline ... flights ground stopped."

A second advisory corrected that it didn't include flights at Horizon or SkyWest, Alaska's regional affiliates.
Alaska told TPG:
This morning we experienced an issue while performing an upgrade to the system that calculates our weight and balance. Out of an abundance of caution, we requested a ground stop for all Alaska and Horizon flights, which was instituted at approximately 7:30am PT. The issue was mitigated and the ground stop for Alaska and Horizon flights expired at 8:30am PT. We have begun releasing flights. Residual delays are expected throughout the day. We apologize for the inconvenience and encourage guests to check the status of their flights on alaskaair.com or the Alaska App prior to heading to the airport.
That issue has now been resolved.
There were anecdotal reports of some delays at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The carrier is based in Seattle, and that airport is its largest hub.

In fact, some delays and cancellations were showing up on FlightAware this morning.
