This beautiful hotel in Mexico City just joined SLH and Hilton
Small Hotels of the World just welcomed its newest member — and Hilton Honors loyalists can rejoice. Casona Roma Norte, a Michelin-recognized member of Mexico City's boutique hotel scene, has joined the growing list of points hotels that go far beyond the cookie-cutter offerings.

Casona Roma Norte joins SLH
Casona Roma Norte is the 17th hotel in Mexico and the sixth in Mexico City to join Small Luxury Hotels of the World, a curated collection of boutique and independent properties around the globe. According to Nessi Behar, the hotel's general manager, "This distinction is a testament to Casona's founding ethos: unmatched guest service, curated local experiences, and immersion within living history."
In keeping with those values, Casona Roma Norte is housed in a restored 1920s Belle Epoque mansion, preserving the building's original Art Nouveau architecture and iconic pink facade in an effort to immerse guests in a chapter of the city's history.
The 32-suite hotel, located in the vibrant Roma Norte neighborhood, boasts four dining concepts. La Macaria Matcha & Tea Room serves specialty morning cuppas and artisanal pastries, while wine bar and social club Somma Rooftop offers contemporary cuisine and cocktails with a view. Two more restaurants were recently unveiled: Terra, a fine dining experience pairing unique dishes with guests' beverage selections, and Tacos Romita, a taqueria inspired by the local gastronomic scene.
Casona Roma Norte is also one of just five in Mexico City to hold a prestigious 1-Michelin Key distinction. The hotel is pet-friendly, but young children are not allowed; Casona Roma Norte welcomes guests ages 12 and older.
You can book it with points
Thanks to SLH's partnership with Hilton, Casona Roma Norte is set to become bookable through Hilton Honors this month — meaning you can start earning and burning Hilton (and Amex) points on a fabulous boutique stay.
The property is also a member of Mr & Mrs Smith, a collection of boutique hotels that has a partnership with World of Hyatt. So, very soon, you will have the option to book award stays at Casona Roma Norte with either program.
Rates start around $450 or 32,500 World of Hyatt points per night. Award prices through Hilton Honors remain to be seen, so keep an eye on Hilton's website in the coming weeks.
