Sweet Spot Sunday: Booking the $800+ per night Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme with points
The World of Hyatt loyalty program is a favorite of both TPG editors and readers for a few important reasons:
- In our experience, its hotels are always clean and high-quality (even the cheap ones near highways).
- Hyatt treats its elite members better than most other hotel chains.
- Hyatt points are easy to earn.
- It's one of the last remaining hotel programs that uses an award chart.
These details make Hyatt one of the most compelling award travel investments you can make. The fact that Hyatt uses an award chart allows for some incredible sweet spots that can yield you a value of 3.5 cents or more per point.
The Park Hyatt Paris Vendome is a perfect example. It's a bucket list item in the points and miles community and one of the best hotels you can book with Hyatt points.

And because Hyatt is a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards, you can quickly earn enough Hyatt points for a stay at this property with travel credit cards such as:
Let's look at why you should consider staying at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome — and how easy it is to book.
Why it's special
Situated near popular Parisian attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre — and a stone's throw from top-end shopping boutiques — The Park Hyatt Paris Vendome isn't for travelers on a budget. Rooms routinely cost $800+ per night — unless you know how to maximize Hyatt points.
It's a Category 7 hotel, meaning you'll pay:
- Between 25,000 and 35,000 Hyatt points per night for a standard room (depending on the date)
- Between 43,000 and 53,000 points per night for a standard suite

For example, here's the price for a random date in October 2022. The room is $1,177 per night.
And here's the award price for the exact same night — 30,000 points. That represents a value of 3.92 cents per Hyatt point.
TPG estimates Hyatt points value to be 1.7 cents each, on average. The opportunity to consistently receive a value of 3.5+ cents per point at this hotel is a sweet spot that more than doubles the value of your points.
Even with points, however, a stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome could set you back with incidental charges and meals. But those who have Hyatt Globalist status will get the following for free:
- Free breakfast (a $50+ value per person per day)
- Free parking on award stays ($50+ value per night)
- Suite upgrade when available (potentially $500+ value per day)
And if you've earned a Suite Upgrade Award, you can apply it to reservations here for up to seven nights to receive a confirmed Park Suite King room, which often sells for ~$500 more per night than a standard room.

How to book this award
Step 1. Navigate to the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome site
Head to the Park Hyatt Paris website and click the bright "Book Now" button at the top righthand corner of the page.
Step 2. Choose your travel dates and select "Use Points"
Input your desired dates and tick the "Use Points" box before clicking the "Book Now" button.
Step 3. Select the rate you want to pay
If there are no award nights available, Hyatt will tell you so. If there are award nights available, it looks like this.
In this example, you can pay 30,000 points for a $0 stay in a standard room (you won't be charged taxes, resort fees, or anything of the sort). Or, you can pay for a standard suite for 48,000 points. Note that if standard suites are available for your dates, you are eligible to apply a Suite Upgrade Award to the reservation.

How to earn points for this award
Hyatt offers two cobranded credit cards to choose from, and they both come with substantial sign-up bonuses:
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: Up to 60,000 points:
- 30,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening
- Up to 30,000 more points (1 bonus point per dollar in addition to your regular earnings on up to $15,000 in purchases)
- World of Hyatt Business Credit Card: 60,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in your first three months from account opening.
You can also earn Hyatt points indirectly by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio. The following cards can transfer points to Hyatt:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: 60,000 bonus Chase points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening
- Chase Sapphire Reserve: 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
- Ink Business Preferred Credit Card: 100,000 bonus Chase points after you spend $15,000 in the first three months from account opening
Plus, if you've got any no-annual-fee Ultimate Rewards earning cards such as the Chase Freedom Flex or Ink Business Cash, you can convert those rewards into Hyatt points by first transferring them to one of the above annual fee-incurring Ultimate Rewards cards.

Bottom line
The Park Hyatt Paris Vendome is one of the highest-end hotels you can book within the points and miles world.
Standard rooms frequently sell for $800+ per night — but you can book the property for as little as 25,000 points per night. You'll almost always get a value above 3 cents when using your Hyatt points this way.
