How to use the Amex Gold Dunkin' credit
The American Express® Gold Card is one of TPG's top card picks for dining and groceries. Many staffers adore this card, which comes with numerous food- and dining-related statement credits.
One of the more underrated benefits is the Dunkin' credit. Amex Gold Card members receive up to $7 monthly statement credits (up to $84 in statement credits per calendar year) to use at U.S. Dunkin' locations. (Enrollment is required, and terms apply.)
At first glance, the credit may seem pretty straightforward to use, but there are a few ways you may not have realized you can use it.
Let's dunk into three ways to use the Amex Gold's Dunkin' credit.
How to enroll in the Amex Gold Card Dunkin' credit
Enrolling in the Dunkin' credit is quite easy. Follow these steps to enroll:
1. Log in to your Amex account online or via the Amex app and select your Amex Gold Card.
2. Go to the membership section, then go to "Benefits."
3. Find the Dunkin' benefit option, select that and hit "Enroll."

As you can see above, I have already enrolled in the credit, but if you are not enrolled, you would just select the benefit, then hit "Enroll."
Buy food or beverages at Dunkin'
Dunkin' isn't just a doughnut or coffee shop. It offers a wide variety of items, whether you want breakfast, a sweet treat or a midday caffeine kick. It has some great deals, like a $6 meal deal (available in select markets) that includes an iced coffee, a breakfast sandwich and hash browns.

The easiest way to use this credit is to simply go to your local Dunkin' and use your Amex Gold to pay. You'll then get up to $7 back as a statement credit. You can also do a mobile order and pay with your Amex Gold.

Load Dunkin' account
While there are more than 9,000 U.S. Dunkin' locations in 43 states, I live in a state without a Dunkin' location. However, that doesn't mean I can't use this credit. I load my Dunkin' card every month for $7 and just pay for the reload with my Amex Gold. This can be a great way to use the credit if you don't live near a Dunkin' or go often.
To load your Dunkin' account, you will follow these steps:
1. Create or log in to your Dunkin' account.
2. Go to saved payments, and add your Amex Gold as a payment method.
3. Go to create a Dunkin' card if you don't have one.
4. Once you have a Dunkin' card, select "Add funds" and add $7.
5. When you add funds, select your Amex Gold for the payment method.

Loading my Dunkin' account can come in handy, as I frequently run into a Dunkin' when in airports or traveling to other states.
It's important to note that the credit will not be triggered if you buy a gift card, and it may not work at select airport locations.
Additionally, I like to save up the Dunkin' credit each month to surprise my friends and family periodically and order them a coffee or doughnuts.
Use at Baskin-Robbins
Baskin-Robbins, known for its ice cream cakes and ice cream, is a sister company of Dunkin'. Some Reddit users have reported that you can use a saved Dunkin' card in the app to pay at Baskin-Robbins. Therefore, if you load your Dunkin' card every month for $7, you have another even sweeter redemption option.

How long does it take to receive the credit?
Generally, it takes a few days for the Dunkin' credit to post to my account. However, in the past two months, it has posted the same day I made the purchase. You'll also receive 4 points per dollar spent on your purchase since the purchase codes as "Dunkin' Mobile." The Amex Gold awards 4 points per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide (on the first $50,000 spent each calendar year, then 1 point per dollar thereafter).

It is important to note that this credit is a use-it-or-lose-it benefit, so if you don't use it, it will not roll over. I set a recurring calendar reminder every month on the first to reload my Dunkin' account to make sure I always use this credit.

Bottom line
The Dunkin' credit is one of four food-related statement credits Amex Gold Card members can use. Dunkin' sells much more than coffee and doughnuts, so there is something for most to enjoy there. If you don't live near a Dunkin' location, you can still take advantage of it by simply loading $7 onto your account's Dunkin' card every month and paying with your Amex Gold.
