You will soon be able to book Eurostar train tickets through the Uber app
Travelers heading to Europe will be able to book international train tickets through the popular Uber app, thanks to a new partnership.
Following the launch of Uber Travel — which allows users to reserve rides and make bookings for all legs of their trip in one spot — the ride-hailing service is launching into other forms of transport. A new partnership with third-party travel booking site Omio will allow travelers to book train and coach travel within a single app by the end of August.
In theory, this could mean your train from London to Paris, your ride to your Paris hotel and your lift to the city's best boulangerie for a freshly baked croissant could be organized entirely via Uber.
With aviation far from smooth sailing this summer, Eurostar is enjoying renewed popularity for journeys from London to Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam. While a flight would technically be quicker, the current security lines at Amsterdam's Schipol Airport make the rail journey to London seem positively brief.

Uber Travel plans to incorporate as many different transport options into the app as possible, providing a one-stop shop whether you want to go down the street or to another country.
If you're hungry, you can also arrange food delivery at your destination through Uber Eats; plus, the more you book through the Uber app, the more notifications you'll receive inviting you to experience more and spend more. In fact, Uber could end up being one of the only apps you need for travel in the future. Not to mention, you can import all your trip reservation emails into the Uber app from Gmail; this helps further tailor (or upsell) experiences and transport options to you.
It should also be possible to book flights through the Omio partnership in the app. Still, we wouldn't recommend ditching a world-class comparison platform like Google Flights just yet.
