TAP Air Portugal has round-trip flights to Madrid and Paris for as low as $366
TAP Air Portugal just dropped a big fare sale to Europe.
Economy tickets to destinations such as Barcelona, Copenhagen and Paris are available for less than $400 round-trip, while business-class seats to Portugal and various cities in Europe can be booked for as low as $1,749. In this sale, TAP also allows you to add a stopover in Portugal for up to 10 days with no extra charge.
As is the norm with deals like this, the best prices available are for basic economy tickets — TAP's Discount tier offers the cheapest fares. You are still allowed one carry-on item, one personal item and meals. Seat selection costs $14 each way, and checked luggage is priced at $91 per bag. Fares are nonrefundable and subject to a $199 change fee.

Sample flights
Some of the round-trip routes available in this sale include:
- Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, D.C., to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), from $366
- New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Paris-Orly Airport (ORY), from $386
- JFK and EWR to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN), from $432
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to MAD, from $404
- JFK and EWR to Portugal's Lisbon Airport (LIS) and Porto Airport (OPO), from $469
October is a great time to take advantage of this sale and head to Spain. You can book flights from D.C. to Madrid for just $366 round-trip.

TAP also has economy fares from Boston to Madrid up for grabs at just $404 per round-trip in the same month.

You can also find flights from New York City to Paris for less than $400 round-trip, too. Here's one example for September that caught our attention: You fly out from EWR to ORY, with a brief stop in LIS. On the return flight, you'll land at JFK. If you're OK with returning to JFK instead of EWR, this option is a great chance to save big on a flight to the City of Light.

You can add a free stopover in Lisbon to this itinerary as well. On the "Book a Flight" page, once you select the route you want, hit the red "Search Flights" button.

A pop-up screen will appear, giving you the option to add the stopover in either Lisbon or Porto. You can make the stopover up to 10 days for no extra charge.

As for business-class fares, you have to dig around quite a bit, but bargains abound. We found business-class seats from New York City to Porto for $2,058 round-trip. That's a really good price for this route.

Here are the perks that come with TAP's business-class tier.
