Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

Scandinavian Airlines has launched a sale with great fares to destinations across Europe. SAS is advertising it as a sale for flights to Scandinavia, but as you'll see below, there are many other cities that are discounted. Flights are available from $323 round-trip and discounted destinations include Dublin (DUB), Paris (CDG), Nice (NCE), Copenhagen (CPH), Oslo (OSL) and more. Flights should be booked by March 21.

Flights are in basic economy, meaning a checked bag and seat selection come at an extra cost — but you'll still earn miles and enjoy a free meal.

There a few ways to search, the best probably being to go through SAS' low fare calendar and enter your departure city and then filter to flights under your budget. You'll then see the cheapest flights to all of SAS' European destinations.

However, we found that the calendar wasn't always accurate, so you still may want to head to Priceline or Expedia.

The best fares are from Newark (EWR) and Boston (BOS), and you'll find more European cities discounted if you leave from there. But we still found some great deals from further destinations like Los Angeles (LAX).

Airline: SAS
Routes: EWR/LAX/ORD/MIA/BOS/SFO/IAD to DUB/LHR/CDG/AGP/OSL/NCE/PMI and likely more
Cost: $323+ round-trip in economy
Dates: April - December
Purchase by: March 21
Pay With: The Platinum Card® from American Express (5x on airfare booked directly with the airline), Citi Prestige Card (5x on airfare plus excellent trip delay insurance), Citi Premier® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve, American Express® Gold Card (3x on airfare) or Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2x on travel)
