Let's say you want to spend about 11 days exploring Tahiti. A departing flight Nov. 26 costs $209, and a returning flight comes in at $250.

This price applies to French Bee's Basic fare, which comes with one piece of "hand baggage" and not much else. Click here for details on the dimensions of allowed hand baggage.

If you want a checked bag, an inflight meal and a changeable ticket, pay $50 more each way for the airline's Smart fare.

Maximize your purchase

Don't forget to use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: 2 points per dollar on travel
  • American Express® Gold Card: 3 points per dollar on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel
  • The Platinum Card® from American Express: 5 points per dollar on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel®, on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: 3 points per dollar on airfare

Bottom line

These flights are about $300 cheaper than normal, so if you want to visit Tahiti, it's a perfect opportunity. Make sure to book directly with French Bee, as Google Flights shows higher prices than what's on the airline's direct website. Since French Bee is a low-cost carrier, there will be other fees tacked on for baggage and other extras.
