Any sale flights in this deal on JetBlue will not include a full-size carry-on item, so be sure to factor in an additional $60 to upgrade to Blue — plus another $60 if you intend to check a bag. Blue Basic is JetBlue's most restrictive fare type, and as such, it is nonrefundable. It doesn't include seat selection either.

If you fly Aeromexico, the basic fare is nonrefundable and you cannot change your reservation. However, it does include one carry-on item. As for American, basic economy tickets cannot be changed but they can be canceled and include a carry-on bag.Based on a test search conducted for this story, most of the available flights include a layover, minus some of the routes to CUN.

Bottom line

It's rare to find flights for less than $300 to these popular Mexican destinations. Plus, since tickets are available for January, spring break and much of the year, this deal offers flexibility in your travel dates.
