The flight sales to Mexico keep coming.

This latest deal offers great prices, as low as $222, on nonstop flights to various destinations — perfect for travelers looking to sink their toes into Mexico's pristine beaches and enjoy some quality downtime. The discounts apply for flights to some of the most popular cities south of the border, including Cancun, Guadalajara and San Jose del Cabo.

There is a nice variety of departure cities in this sale, too, including Austin, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Miami and Boston. We also found a number of nonstop flights in our search.

The bulk of the sale fares are for travel between March and July. If you live in Boston and Philadelphia, you will also find some nice prices for itineraries in the fall and winter.

This deal, like most others, involves economy-class fares. Basic economy tickets on American Airlines and Delta Air Lines come with a free carry-on bag. JetBlue's Blue Basic fares don't provide a free carry-on bag, nor do United Airlines' basic economy fares.

Checking a bag will cost you around $70 each way.

Sample flights

Let's start with the Cancun deals.

We found great prices out of Miami in April. American has lots of nonstop itineraries out of Miami International Airport (MIA) to Cancun International Airport (CUN) for just $222 round trip. Not only is this a really good price, but since American's basic economy fare comes with a free carry-on, you also could avoid checked luggage fees if you pack lightly.

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

We found good availability out of Miami in May on American for just $260 round trip. According to Google Flights, that's a savings of more than 50% from typical prices.

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

JetBlue has round-trip fares from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to CUN in March for $260 — a significant markdown from what this route usually sells for. Note, though, that it's a Blue Basic fare, so you'll pay extra to check a bag.

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

If you live in Boston, June seems to be the best month to score the best prices in this sale. We found a few itineraries like this Delta option in June out of Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to CUN for $288 round trip. This fare comes with a free carry-on, and it's a nonstop flight.

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

We came across some nice deals out of Chicago, too, like these nonstop routes in May on Aeromexico from O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) for $268 round trip. This fare comes with a free carry-on.

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

May was far and away the month with the best availability out of the Windy City.

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

If you live in Houston and want to save money on a quick summer vacation, start planning your visit to Monterrey. There are a number of nonstop flights from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Monterrey International Airport (MTY) in June that will cost you as little as $232 round trip.

This is a United basic economy ticket, so there is no free carry-on. According to Google Flights, this ticket price is less than half of what you'd normally pay in the summer. Monterrey may not be a beach destination like Cancun, but it's rich in history and culture and has a wonderful food scene.

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

You can also save big on flights from Austin to San Jose del Cabo in May.

We found great options in that month for flights departing out of the Texas capital, including this nonstop from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) for only $274 round trip. That's a fantastic price for this route at this time of year.
