No matter where you live, consider booking a trip to Dublin. Airlines are offering discounted flights to Ireland's popular capital city from airports across the country.

Previously, we reported flights to Dublin for less than $500 from major cities this fall. Now, there’s an even greater slew of deals from which to choose: More than seven airlines have cheap flights to Dublin from at least 120 U.S. cities. Also, prices are now dipping well below $500, with some airlines offering round-trip flights for as low as $321.

The deal primarily pertains to fall and winter travel, but there is some availability in the spring. This deal also only extends to basic economy fare.

With this much flexibility, this is certainly a great deal, so act fast.

Sample flights

The best part of this deal is its geographic flexibility. Major cities — and even smaller ones such as Newburgh, New York, and Aspen, Colorado, all have discounted flights to Dublin. Keep in mind that the vast majority of these flights are not direct.

Here are the highlights:

  • Play: From New York Stewart International Airport (SWF), starting at $321 (includes a layover).
  • Aer Lingus: From Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), starting at $322 (includes a layover).
  • Play: From Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI), starting at $343.
  • Scandinavian Airlines: From Newark Liberty International Airport, starting at $370 (includes a layover).
  • Aer Lingus: From John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), starting at $415.
  • TAP Air Portugal: From San Francisco International Airport (SFO), starting at $443.
  • Icelandair: From Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), starting at $543 (includes a layover).

We recommend finding your best dates for a trip through Google Flights, then booking your flights directly with the airline.

Airlines tend to be more reliable than third-party sites when it comes to any potential delays, cancellations or booking changes. Also, Google Flights prices can differ from those of airlines due to third-party booking options.

Play is one of the airlines offering some of the heftiest discounts to Dublin. The cheapest option in the deal is a flight that departs from SWF in Newburgh.

The sticker price for the Play flight to Dublin on Google Flights is $318, but when booking on PLAY’s website, fares are $322.89. The flight to and from Dublin includes a layover in Reykjavik, Iceland, for approximately two hours.

PLAY’s basic economy fare allows you to bring a carry-on, but it charges an additional $51 since carry-ons are bundled with priority boarding. A checked bag costs an extra $78. Passengers can bring one personal item on the flight.

You can also select a seat on the flight but will have to pay anywhere between an additional $5 and $38 to do so. The more expensive seats are either at the front of the aircraft or near an exit, offering more legroom.

As you would expect, the cheapest seats are toward the back of the aircraft and have less legroom.

The above tickets are for travel from Jan. 25, 2023, to Feb. 1, 2023, so it will definitely be cold in Dublin. However, with fares this cheap, the trip is still worth it — just be sure to pack a warm winter coat.

Maximize your purchase

Make sure to use a card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, like The Platinum Card® from American Express (5 points per dollar on airfare booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel), on up to $500,000 on such purchases per calendar year, Citi Prestige® Card (5 points per dollar on airfare), Citi Premier® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve (3 points per dollar on airfare), American Express® Gold Card (3 points per dollar on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through Amex Travel) or the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2 points per dollar on travel). Bottom line

Even if the majority of travel dates take place when it’s cold and gray in Dublin, you can still fully experience the cathedrals, breathtaking countryside views and, of course, pubs.

With the option to fly to the Irish capital from many U.S. cities, these flights are definitely a steal. Since these deals are only meant to last a couple of days, book as soon as you can.
