Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using the American Express Platinum Card, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

Solid fares are available from the East Coast to all over Italy starting in late March going through the end of October. If you're lucky enough to live in Boston, Miami, New York or Philadelphia, you can take your pick between Florence, Milan, Rome and Venice. Most of the flights include one short layover, but some like the Miami (MIA) to Milan (MXP) option below are nonstop.

Some of the city pairings are only available for a couple months, but if you're flexible as to your Italian destination, you should be able to find a solid deal from any of the departure cities listed. You'll definitely want to use Google Flights to find your desired dates, and then you can complete booking on the airline's site.
